The Doctors Gate Fell Race is a counter in the 2026 English Fell Running Championships. The race starts and finishes at Hawkshead Mill on Hope Street in Glossop.

Race Details

Doctors Gate is a 12.7-mile fell race with nearly 3000 feet of ascent. The route follows the old packhorse route from Old Glossop to where it meets the Pennine Way. It then heads to Higher Shelf Stones and Lower Shelf Stones. After returning to Doctors Gate, the route climbs James Thorn via Shelf Benches before returning to Old Glossop via Dog Rock, Torside Clough, and Cock Hill.

Food will be provided at the finish, with a presentation and prizes afterwards.
