The Chester Ultra 50 is the 11th edition of a 50 miles trail ultramarathon organised by GB Ultras around Chester. The course records 849 m of ascent and offers 750 places. Entry fees listed are £129 (unaffiliated) and £127 (affiliated). The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. It awards ITRA points and UTMB mountain performance index points.

The route is well marked and combines canal towpath, ancient woodland and sections of the Sandstone Trail and the North Cheshire Way. Notable features on the course include Helsby Hill, Delamere Forest and Frodsham. Live GPS tracking is provided and the race uses seven checkpoints; Checkpoint 1 is water only. There is a total event cut off of 17 hours.

Mandatory kit must be carried at all times. Required items include a waterproof coat with sealed seams, a long sleeved base layer, at least 1 litre of water, a fully charged mobile phone in waterproof covering, a foil blanket, a headtorch plus a secondary torch and a whistle. No dropbags are permitted. Pacers and support runners are not allowed. Supporter and crew access is restricted at several checkpoints; dogs except service dogs are not permitted at checkpoints or the start and finish venue.

A five mile trail race and a 2 km kids fun run at Lymm High School, on grass and dirt paths through Helsdale Wood and Spud Wood. Age limits, entry fees, prize categories and a no refund transfer policy are specified.

An evening orienteering event at Brereton Heath on 23 June 2026 with a range of colour coded courses from White to Blue and a Score option. The event uses parkland and woodland, with metered parking and registration outside the Visitor Cent..

Nant Gain is a 7.6 km fell race around Cilcain with 370 m of ascent, night registration at The White Horse Pub and a £3 entry on the night. Parking is limited so car sharing and use of the viewpoint car park are recommended.

A Pretty Muddy 5 km obstacle event at Tatton Park featuring climbing, crawling and sliding across uneven grass and gravel terrain. It requires participants to be 13 or older and includes fundraising support plus a Race for Life medal.
