Trail Running calendar near Leicester 2026-2027

A moorland trail event around Saddleworth offering 26 km, 43 km and 62 km routes that visit reservoirs and rough moorland. Entry fees include refreshments, tracking, medical cover and a post event meal.

Trail races at Pitsford Water from Brixworth Country Park offering 10k and half marathon routes across country tracks and village lanes. Fully marshaled with water stations, a cupless policy, and medals for all finishers.

A 50km trail ultramarathon through the Chilterns centered at Stonor Park, run as two 25km loops with 4000 ft of climb, five aid stations and full medical support. The event has a nine hour finish limit and medals for all finishers.

An eight hour looped ultramarathon at Heaton Park where runners complete repeated 5.6 km laps on mixed terrain. Options include Saturday, Sunday or both days with combined results for those who run the double.

A looped trail event at High Lodge Thetford Forest offering distances from 5k to ultra marathon, lap-based formats, on course aid at the lap point, medal options and refreshments at Oak Lodge. Part of entry fees support forest upkeep.

A supported 50 mile point-to-point ultra along the Trans-Pennine Trail from Manchester to Liverpool, with live GPS tracking, six staffed checkpoints, TRA licensing and a 14 hour cut-off.

A 100 mile loop through the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB with about 8,000 ft of elevation and six aid stations. Entrants must finish within 36 hours and places are limited to 150.

Peak Rail 7 pits runners against a steam hauled heritage train on the route from Rowsley South to Matlock Riverside and back. The course uses shared trails with marshals, on site parking, and post race photos and results published online.

The Normanby Hall Adventure Race on 4 April 2027 is a cross country obstacle event at Normanby Hall Country Park with water, mud, sand, crawl nets and horse jumps. Distances include 5 km, 10 km and a junior Bale Jumper.

A circular Half Marathon through Thetford Forest on mixed hard-packed and grassy trails, manually timed and traffic free. The event is cupless, offers optional eco friendly medals and podium trophies, and has a 3.5 hour cut-off.

A mixed-terrain race day on 10 April 2027 at Remenham Farm, Henley-on-Thames, offering a half marathon, 10K and junior out-and-back along the River Thames.

Weekend trail races on the Monsal Trail in the Peak District offering a half marathon and a 10K on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 April 2027, using a traffic free multi terrain route that passes through four tunnels and over Monsal viaduct.

A 54 mile circular ultra from Brixworth Country Park across Northamptonshire trails, towpaths and roads. The event is fully tracked and offers relay teams plus a 26 mile Rosebud Marathon option.
