Wakefield Pretty Muddy 5k

The Wakefield Pretty Muddy event is a 5k obstacle course held on Saturday 12 June 2027 at Thornes Park, Horbury Road, Wakefield. The course starts and finishes on grass and combines surfaced paths, woodland tracks and undulating grassed areas. It includes a variety of elevations such as rolling hills, sloping downhills and uphill gradients. The event features muddy obstacles where participants climb, crawl and slide around the route. Wave starts are staggered every 15 minutes. Participants must be at least 13 years old.

The event lists Earlybird ticket prices of £11.24 for adults and £6.00 for children. The minimum fundraising target is £50. Participants receive information by email before the event and are provided with a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal on completion.

The start and finish lines are on the playing field near the children's playground. There is no designated event parking at the venue; town centre pay and display car parks are approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk away. The Athletics Stadium car park is closed to participants but offers blue badge parking and volunteer parking with a short walk to the site. The nearest train station is Wakefield Westgate, about 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Refreshments and toilets are available. Dogs are not allowed. Up the Nab is a fell running event on Wednesday 29 July 2026 at Glossop Rugby Club, Charlesworth, with online and on the day entry options and an FRA permit providing UK Athletics insurance.

The Lee Mill Fell Race opens the Mid-Week Series in Stubbylee Park, Bacup on 29 July 2026. The 10.7 km course features moorland climbs, a fast descent past Cowm Reservoir and a return through Lee Mill Quarry.
