The Ridgeway Chase is a 60 km point-to-point ultramarathon on the first section of The Ridgeway National Trail. The 2026 edition is set for 30 May and starts at Ivinghoe Beacon, finishing at Ridgeway View Campsite near Wallingford. The route includes ridgeline and woodland sections and is marked for navigation.

Route, checkpoints and rules

The route follows the first 60 km of The Ridgeway. There are four checkpoint aid stations: CP1 Wendover (10.1 miles / 16.3 km), CP2 Whiteleaf (17.3 miles / 27.9 km), CP3 Aston Rowant (25.5 miles / 41.1 km), CP4 Nuffield (34 miles / 54.8 km). Checkpoints provide water, electrolyte drink, gels, chews, snacks, fruit and pre-made sandwiches; hot water is available at CP3. Pacers are not permitted; crews may provide support except at checkpoint locations. Drop bags (max 50 litres) can be transported from start to finish. Required kit includes a charged mobile, route GPX or map, at least 0.5 litre water capacity, foil blanket, reusable cup, windproof or waterproof jacket, and payment method. Join the Dry January 10k at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes on 1 February 2026 to run 5k or 10k in person or virtually while supporting Alcohol Change UK. Enjoy a bespoke medal, charity technical t shirt and a fun lakeside route.

Dark Rose is a 5.5 mile trail race around Great Waltham with a small 75 runner field and self navigation route given on the day. Finish back at the Rose and Crown for a hearty cottage pie or vegetable lasagne.

A 5K self navigational trail run at Nuclear Essex on 14 February supporting the British Heart Foundation. Participants follow a checkpoint route, are asked to wear something red and receive hot chocolate and Jammie Dodgers at the finish.

Take on the Hot Lips Run at Crystal Palace Park and choose how many 1.65 mile laps to tackle, from 5k to ultra, on scenic off road trails with rolling hills. Timed with a 7 hour limit and a finisher memento for all entrants.
