Route, checkpoints and logistics

The route starts in Henley-on-Thames outside The Catherine Wheel (7-15 Hart St, RG9 2AR) and finishes outside Travelodge Kingston Central (KT1 2PD). The course follows the Thames past Marlow Lock, Cookham Moor, Maidenhead Bridge, Dorney/Thames Field, Boveney Lock, Windsor Racecourse and Windsor Bridge, then on through Runnymede, Bell Weir Lock, Staines Bridge and Queen Mary Reservoir, finishing away from the Thames Path at Kingston.

There are three checkpoints, supplying water and food items such as malt loaf, sandwiches, dried fruit, squash and cola; organisers will try to cater for gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian diets. Checkpoint leg distances are: Start to CP1 9.5 miles; CP1 to CP2 12 miles; CP2 to CP3 13.9 miles; CP3 to Finish 12.9 miles. Competitors must be self-sufficient for travel to the start and from the finish and are required to carry mandatory kit such as a GPX device or downloaded route and a mobile phone.
