The Maverick Peak District X-Trail 2027
The event takes place on Saturday 5 June 2027 at Bakewell Showground in the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire. All routes start and finish at the Bakewell Showground and run into varied upland and valley terrain across the National Park.
Available route options:
- 55 km Ultra, elevation +1214 m
- 41 km Marathon, elevation +992 m
- 28 km Half Marathon, elevation +600 m
- 10 km Middle, elevation +271 m
- 6 km Short, elevation +111 m
Routes run over high moorland, gritstone edges, steep climbs, fast-descending river valleys, sheltered woodland and ancient trails. The course uses sections of the Pennine footpath, crosses old railway lines, and passes locations such as Bamford, Hathersage, Curbar, Froggatt and Stanage.
Outposts on route provide food and drink top ups including sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drink. The 55 km route has a 10 hour completion limit and outpost cut offs; runners arriving after cut off will be returned to the finish venue.
Facilities at the event include free parking, fully marked and fully timed courses, online results, event photography, bag drop and a metal finisher medal. The 50 km and Marathon routes require mandatory kit; organisers recommend all runners carry water, a waterproof layer, a foil blanket and a charged mobile phone.
