Derby Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Markeaton Park in Derby. The start and finish are on the large grass field in the centre of the park. The course covers a mixture of terrains and is described as suitable for walking, jogging or running. Participants climb, crawl and slide around mud obstacles and cross a finish line that includes a Race for Life medal.

The event is organised by Cancer Research UK. There is a minimum fundraising target of £50. Entry prices listed for this event are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. Pretty Muddy events use staggered start waves every 15 minutes so groups should register for the same wave.

On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets and parking. Car parking will be available at the Mundy Play Centre car park and at The University of Derby Kedleston Road car park; these are a short walk from the event and have limited spaces. Blue badge parking is available at Markeaton Park car park and at the Mundy Play Centre car park. There are no bike racks and no electric vehicle charging points at the event site.

Accessibility notes state the event is not suitable for wheelchair users. Sunflower wristbands and British Sign Language stage content via QR code will be available. A new fell race from Sinfin Running Club around the Chevin covering 8.9 km with 315 m of climb. The marked course uses two short loops and a figure of eight and includes some short road sections.

An in-person 8 km trail loop around Calke Abbey nature park, meeting at Ticknall Village Hall Car Park. Organised by Run 4 U and Perform Running Club, with free parking and refunds available up to one day before the event.

A backyard ultra at Far Coley Farm on 29 May 2026 where runners complete a 4.167 mile loop every hour until one runner remains. The event features a race village, limited on site accommodation and basic recovery facilities.

Three trail routes start at Bakewell Showground and explore varied Peak District terrain including moors, valleys and parts of the Pennine Way. The Half Marathon route includes outposts and does not allow dogs.
