ZigZag - Farmmageddon takes place on Saturday 23 May 2026 at Hyde Hall Farm, SG9 0RU. The event is limited to 300 entrants. Minimum age is 18 years. Entries close on 21/05/2026 and transfers close on 16/05/2026. The course uses a 5.3 km loop and follows trail, grassland and some tarmac. The 100-mile option is held over two days within a 32-hour period.

The 100-mile finishers receive a buckle and a t-shirt, subject to the event’s ordering deadline. Finishers of other distances receive a Farmmageddon medal or may choose an alternate Hyde Hall Event medal. There is a water aid station at the lap point. Parking is included and secure on site, with an attendant to direct vehicles and guide participants to the start area for number collection. A baggage area is provided for warm clothes and spare shoes. The event is cupless, so participants should note that refreshments will not be provided in single-use cups. A night street orienteering event in Chelmsford on 21 January using MapRun with two courses of 4.0 km and 7.3 km. It counts toward the Essex Winter Midweek Series with handicap scoring and an Anytime catch-up option.

Join the Dark Horse Trail on 21 January 2026 for a 5 mile self navigated run around Galleywood Common, starting and finishing at the Horse and Groom pub. Limited to 60 places, entry includes a sausage or veggie burger with chips.

Dark Rose is a 5.5 mile trail race around Great Waltham with a small 75 runner field and self navigation route given on the day. Finish back at the Rose and Crown for a hearty cottage pie or vegetable lasagne.

Run the Wivenhoe 5 mile trail on 07 Feb 2026, starting and finishing at The Black Buoy pub near the station. Limited to 50 places, with a celebratory drink for finishers.
