Takeley 10K 2026

The Takeley 10k is an off-road countryside race held along the Flitch Way. The measured route has kilometre markers and was surveyed with GPS. The course is overall slightly undulating, about 90% off-road on old railway track, grass paths and bridleways, with roughly 0.7 kilometre of road leading to the finish at the Silver Jubilee Hall.

Race services include chip timing for the 10k, water stations at about 2.5k and 7.5k, full marshalling and first aid. Facilities at the event include a full changing area, secure bag storage, toilets, and refreshments including a bar and BBQ where available. Finishers of the 10k receive a technical T-shirt and a medal; available T-shirt sizes are S, M, L and XL.

The event raises funds for the redevelopment of the Village Hall and Sports and Social Club and is organised as a charity event for Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall. Entry for the 10k is £20 and the children and family fun run accepts on the day entries with a minimum £2 donation. Minimum age for 10k entry is 16 years on the day. Wheelchair entries cannot be accepted because of the off-road terrain.

Prize categories cover overall male and female first to third places and multiple age group awards. The event risk assessment will be available on the main notice board on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
