Takeley 10K 2026

The event is an off-road countryside race held along the Flitch Way near Takeley, Bishop's Stortford. The main competition is a measured 10 km route with kilometre markers and chip timing for all 10 km entrants. The route is about 90% off-road, using the old disused railway track, grass paths and bridleways, with roughly 0.7 kilometre of road approaching the finish. The course has been measured with GPS and is described as slightly undulating.

All runners who complete the 10 km receive a technical finisher T-shirt (sizes S, M, L, XL) and a medal. Water stations are located at about 2.5 km and 7.5 km. Full marshalling, first aid support at Race HQ and on course, toilets, changing facilities and secure bag storage are provided. Refreshments, a bar and a barbecue are available subject to weather.

A Children and Family Fun Run takes place on the same day with entry on the day for a minimum donation. Entry fees stated are £20 for the 10 km and a minimum £2 donation for the fun run. The event raises funds for the redevelopment of the Village Hall and Sports & Social Club and operates as a charitable fundraiser for Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall.

Prizes are awarded to overall male and female placings and to multiple age-group winners; overall winners receive only one award. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
