Takeley 10K 2026

The Takeley 10K is an off road countryside race held along the Flitch Way with a measured route and kilometre markers. The distance has been measured with GPS and the course is overall slightly undulating, mostly on grass paths and bridleways, with about 0.7 kilometre of road near the finish.

Distances:

  • 10 km off road race on the Flitch Way
  • 1 mile Children and Family Fun Run with on the day entry and £2 minimum donation

All 10 km runners are chip timed. Finishers receive a technical T shirt and a medal, with sizes S, M, L, XL to confirm during entry. The minimum age for 10 km entry is 16 years on the day, and wheelchair entries cannot be accepted because of the off road terrain.

Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall. First place age group awards are offered across multiple bands, including male over 40, 50, 60, 65 and 70, and female over 35, 45, 55, 60 and 65. Overall winners receive only one award and are not eligible for other categories.

Support facilities include full marshalling, first aid, changing area, secure bag storage and toilets. Water stations are provided at about 2.5 km and 7.5 km. Refreshments, a bar and a BBQ are available subject to weather. The finish is at the Silver Jubilee Hall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
