Stour Valley Path 100km and 50km

The Stour Valley Path is a running event taking place along a notable footpath in England. The route spans across the East Anglian landscape, passing through parts of Suffolk and Essex. The course is recognized for its scenery, which provided inspiration for artists such as John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, as well as the author Beatrix Potter.

There are two primary distances available for participants:

  • 100 km
  • 50 km

The 100 km race is a point-to-point course that covers almost the entire length of the well-marked Stour Valley Path. It begins in Newmarket, Suffolk, and follows the trail to its conclusion in Cattawade, Essex. The 50 km event focuses on the second half of this scenic trail, starting in Sudbury and finishing at the same endpoint in Cattawade.

The event is open to participants aged 20 or older. Registration is available for both affiliated and non-affiliated runners. The start location in Newmarket is accessible via various transport methods, including car, train, or coach, with connections to London, the East Midlands, and Stansted airport. The trail is well-marked throughout, providing a direct route for runners through the valley. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
