The Cold Norton Charity Summer 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event - 9 August 2026

This is a summer charity trail running event raising funds for Farleigh Hospice. The event takes place at Bencott, Newport Avenue, Cold Norton, Essex CM3 6NR. What3words location given is tickles.options.rural.

The event offers two route options:

  • 10 km
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)

Routes are mainly on grass, tracks and paths in the countryside around Cold Norton and nearby villages. The courses are unmarked narrative routes; participants receive written instructions and there will be occasional tape in trickier places.

Logistics include a staggered start and parking close to the start and finish. There is no bag drop; runners are asked to prepare at their vehicles and then register when ready. Participants are timed in and out but the event is not chip timed. Dogs are not permitted. The event will follow the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions in force at the time.

There will be aid stations, but this is a cupless event. Participants must carry their own cup or drink bottle as no cups will be provided at checkpoints. Refreshments will be available at the finish including hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes; donations are welcomed.

Entry fees are £14 for the 10 km and £20 for the half marathon. A finishers medal can be added for £3.20. A booking fee of 50p or 4% (whichever is greater) applies. Entries close on 31 July 2026. Ample parking, toilets and handwashing facilities will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
