The Cold Norton Charity Summer 10K & Half Marathon Trail Event

The event takes place on 9 August 2026 at Bencott, Newport Avenue, Cold Norton, Essex CM3 6NR, located off Fambridge Road between Cold Norton and North Fambridge. What3words location is tickles.options.rural.

Available distances:

  • 10 km
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)

Routes run mainly on grass, tracks and paths through the countryside around Cold Norton and nearby villages. These are unmarked narrative routes; participants receive written instructions and a small amount of tape will help at trickier points.

A staggered start will be used. Parking is close to the start and finish and there is no dedicated bag drop, so participants are asked to prepare by their vehicles and visit the registration desk when ready to run. Race numbers and written route instructions are provided at registration.

Timing is by manual check in and out and the event is not chip timed. Aid stations are provided but the event is cupless; participants must carry their own cup or bottle as no cups will be available at checkpoints. The event will follow any applicable COVID 19 restrictions in force at the time. Dogs are not permitted.

Refreshments at the finish include hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes; donations for Farleigh Hospice are welcome. Entry fees are £14 for the 10 km and £20 for the half marathon. A finishers medal is available for an additional £3.20. Service fees apply. Entries close on 31 July 2026. Total places 120. Ample parking, toilets and handwashing facilities will be available.
