Dunton 10k at Langdon Nature Discovery Park

The Dunton event returns with a new 10 km trail race held at Langdon Nature Discovery Park in Basildon on Sunday 26 July 2026. The event is organised by Phoenix Striders and runs under Trail Runners Association permits and England Athletics rules. Total capacity is 200 places and entries remain open online until 12:00 on Saturday 25 July, with entries on the day available for an additional £2.

Distances and entry ages

  • 10 km : minimum age 16
  • Kiddies race : minimum age 2

The car park has limited space, so attendees should allow extra time for parking and number collection, which takes place at the discovery centre on race day. The discovery centre does not have changing facilities but has toilets and a range of hot and cold drinks, snacks, gifts and ice creams.

The course uses paths and trails within Langdon Hills and will raise funds for Essex Wildlife Trust and charities supported by Phoenix Striders, including Essex and Herts Air Ambulance and The Finish Line Fund, and Brighter Outcomes for Special People. There are discounted entry rates for members of TRA WA SA and a sliding price schedule listed for late and standard entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
