Chelmsford Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course set within the grounds of Hylands Park in Chelmsford. The course is on grass, fully contained inside the park, and includes slight inclines and undulating areas. The start and finish are on open grass behind Flint Cottage, with the finish opposite the start.

Waves start every 15 minutes to manage participants on the course. Obstacles involve climbing, crawling and sliding; marshals are available to assist if a participant needs to skip an obstacle. The minimum age to take part is 13 years. A separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme exists for children aged 12 and under.

Facilities available on site include refreshments, toilets and event parking. The event is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for pushchairs. Dogs are not allowed. Bag drop and showers are not available. Sunflower wristbands are available at the enquiries marquee and Event Managers are trained Dementia Friends. A QR code on the main site will provide British Sign Language stage content.

Travel notes: a designated free car park is accessed via Greenbury Way, there is a drop-off zone and Blue Badge parking via the Hylands House entrance. First Bus service 351 stops outside and Chelmsford rail station is about 3.5 miles away. Approximately 20 cycle spaces are provided in the main car park.
