Chelmsford Pretty Muddy 5k

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Hylands Park, Greenbury Way, Chelmsford CM2 8FS on Sunday 19 July 2026. The course is fully contained within the park grounds, run on grass with some slight inclines and undulating areas. The start and finish are on grass; the start line is on the open grass area behind Flint Cottage and the finish line is opposite the start.

Participants climb, crawl and slide around a series of obstacles. Waves start every 15 minutes to manage safety on course; marshals are present to assist and participants may skip obstacles if needed. To take part one must be 13 years of age or older at the time of the event. There is a Pretty Muddy Kids option for children aged 12 and under at separate events.

Entry fees listed are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children, with a minimum fundraising target of £50. On entry participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal on completion. The event provides refreshments, toilets and parking. It is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not suitable for pushchairs. Sunflower wristbands, staff trained as Dementia Friends and a QR code for British Sign Language stage content are available to assist accessibility needs.
