Ridley Round
Ridley Round is a trail race held on 18 July 2026 that starts and finishes at The Compasses, Littley Green, Chelmsford. The course is approximately half marathon in length and follows rural paths including sections of the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley.
The event is now run with staggered starts as well as staggered finishes. It is a self-navigation race: participants receive a written route description on the day. There are no course markings or marshals and no GPX file will be provided. This is not a mass start event and participants will be timed and recorded at the finish. Race headquarters is located outside the pub at a gazebo.
Entry conditions and logistics: all entrants must be over 17. Entry includes a small voucher to spend at The Compasses on the day. Discounted entry fees apply to runners affiliated to an EA TRA club; a UKA levy applies to non affiliated runners, part of which will be passed to charity. No refunds or transfers and no entries on the day. All profits are allocated to Braintree Youth Project Charity. Results will be posted on the Essex Trail Events website.
