Ridley Round

Ridley Round takes place at The Compasses, Littley Green on 18 Jul 2026. The Compasses is assisted by Essex Trail Events and the event holds TRA Permit 8557. The race starts and finishes at The Compasses with Race HQ located outside the pub at a gazebo.

The route is approximately a half marathon (approx) and visits a number of former Ridley’s pubs. The trail passes through rural countryside and follows parts of the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley.

This is a self-navigation trail race. Participants receive a written route description on the day; there are no course markings, no marshals and no GPX file. The event uses staggered starts and staggered finishes rather than a mass start. Runners will be timed out and back in at the finish.

All entrants must be over 17. Entry for affiliated runners is £8.00 plus a 50p booking fee. Non affiliated runners pay a £2 UKA levy, with £1.50 of that levy allocated to charities. Entry includes a £2 voucher to spend at The Compasses on the day. There are no refunds or transfers and absolutely no entries on the day. Dogs are not permitted. Confirmation of entry is sent by email and results will be posted on essextrailevents.com. All profits go to Crohn's & Colitis UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
