Ridley Round

Ridley Round is a trail race held on 18 July 2026 that starts and finishes at The Compasses, Littley Green, Chelmsford CM3 1BU. The course is approximately a half marathon and follows rural paths including sections of the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley. The event is presented by The Compasses with assistance from Essex Trail Events and holds TRA Permit 8557.

The format uses staggered, pre-booked starts and staggered finishes rather than a mass start. Participants receive a written route description on the day; the course is self-navigated with no route markings, no marshals, and no GPX file provided. Runners will be timed at the finish and must meet the event time controls.

Race headquarters is at a gazebo outside the pub. All entrants must be over 17. Entry terms include no refunds or transfers. Entry pricing notes a reduced fee for club-affiliated runners and a UKA levy for non-affiliated runners, with part of the levy directed to charities. Entries include a small voucher to spend at The Compasses on the day. All profits are allocated to Braintree Youth Project Charity. As this is a UKA event, running or walking with dogs is not permitted. Confirmation of entry will be sent by email to the address provided on the entry form.
