Sandwell Pretty Muddy 5k : Race for Life

The event is a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course held at Sandwell Valley Country Park in Sandwell, B71 4BG. The start and finish are on grass. The course runs over grass, paths and woodland and includes multiple obstacles and muddy sections. A course map is available but may be subject to change.

The event is organised by Cancer Research UK. Participants must be 13 years of age or older. There is a separate Pretty Muddy Kids programme for children aged 12 and under. The event uses staggered wave starts to reduce congestion on the course.

Entry fees listed for the event are £22.49 for adults and £12.00 for children. A minimum fundraising target of £50.00 applies. Registered participants receive event information and practical details by email. On arrival the meeting point is the showground in front of Park Farm.

Travel and parking details note pavilion and overflow car parks with stewarded parking and charges of up to £2. Blue Badge spaces are allocated within the venue. The venue is about a 25 minute walk from West Bromwich and West Brom Central station and is served by several bus routes. Facilities on site include refreshments and toilets; dogs are not permitted. The event is not suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs are not recommended. Support measures include sunflower wristbands, Event Managers trained as Dementia Friends and a QR code for British Sign Language stage content. Trail runs nearby

An in-person 8 km trail loop around Calke Abbey nature park, meeting at Ticknall Village Hall Car Park. Organised by Run 4 U and Perform Running Club, with free parking and refunds available up to one day before the event.

A backyard ultra at Far Coley Farm on 29 May 2026 where runners complete a 4.167 mile loop every hour until one runner remains. The event features a race village, limited on site accommodation and basic recovery facilities.

A reworked May 2026 50 mile trail around Telford passing Ironbridge and the Wrekin, with four checkpoints, recommended trail shoes and a 9PM cut off. Participants report good waymarking and well stocked aid stations.

03 June 2026 at Kinver Edge, a 10 km trail run over two laps on local tracks with varied climbs. Canicross is permitted and advance entries cost £10, with limited places and series entry open until 1 May 2026.
