Grim Reaper Running Festival 2026
The Grim Reaper Running Festival takes place around the Grimsthorpe Castle Estate near Bourne in South Lincolnshire (PE10 0LY). The event uses a fully marked 10-mile loop that passes grass trails through ancient woodland, limestone tracks, quiet estate roads, a disused Victorian railway line, and skirts the estate lake. Elevation is approximately 550 ft per lap.
Distances offered:
- 10-mile day and 10-mile night races
- 40-mile solo
- 70-mile solo
- 100-mile solo and 100-mile team relay
Ultra-distance runners are expected to be largely self-sufficient; there is an aid station at mile 5 with limited snacks, water and a toilet. Runners may leave tents or supplies close to the start/finish to access between laps. Camping is permitted on the Friday and Saturday nights with the camp area located near the start/finish.
Medics qualified to event standards will be onsite throughout the festival. Mandatory kit is required for the 40, 70 and 100-mile solo races and a headtorch is mandatory for the 10-mile night race. Pacers are permitted on foot from mile 50 only, one pacer at a time. Crew access is limited to the start/finish area. Cut-off and race rules apply to the ultra distances.
