Grim Reaper Running Festival 2026

The Grim Reaper Running Festival takes place on 23 and 24 May 2026 at Grimsthorpe Castle Estate near Bourne, South Lincolnshire (PE10 0LY). The event is organised by Bog Dog and uses a full marked 10 mile loop as its base course.

Distances include:

  • 10 miles day and night races
  • 40 miles solo
  • 70 miles solo
  • 100 miles solo and a 100 mile team relay for up to five participants

The 10 mile loop runs on grass trails through ancient woodland, limestone tracks, quiet estate roads and a stretch along a disused Victorian railway line, and it skirts the estate lake before returning to the start and finish in front of the castle. There is a 5 mile aid station, but the event is otherwise self-sufficient; competitors may leave tents or supplies at a designated start/finish area to access after each lap.

The 40, 70 and 100 mile races have a strict 28 hour cut off and require a mandatory kit list. Entry includes the option to camp on the Friday and Saturday nights at no extra cost. Entries open 27 June 2025 and close 10 May 2026. Entry requires registration with SiEntries.

Trophies are awarded to first, second and third male and female finishers in all solo races and to all members of the winning teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
