Grim Reaper Trail Race at Grimsthorpe Castle
The event takes place at Grimsthorpe Castle, Bourne, South Lincolnshire, across 22 and 23 May 2027. All distances use the same 10 mile loop around the estate, which is fully marked and measures about 550 ft of climb per lap.
The loop runs over grass trails through ancient woodland, limestone tracks, quiet estate roads and a stretch along a disused Victorian railway line. It skirts the estate lake and starts and finishes in front of the castle. Terrain is undulating with no major hills; trail shoes are recommended.

Race support and rules include an aid station at mile 5 with water, limited snacks and a toilet, a cupless format, on-site camping near the start and finish, and fully qualified medics throughout the event. Mandatory kit is required for the 40, 70 and 100 mile races once night rules apply and includes a charged phone, survival blanket, head torch and backup light, waterproof jacket and at least 1 litre of carrying capacity. Pacers are permitted from mile 50 in the 70 and 100 mile races. Dogs are allowed only in the 10 mile solo races and must be on a lead.
