Hoby Hop Trail Race 10th anniversary

The event marks the tenth running of a five mile chip timed cross country and canicross race across the countryside of the Upper Wreake valley. The course crosses fields, stiles, brooks and traditional footpaths, includes the odd hills, and offers views over Leicestershire and beyond.

Race headquarters are at Hoby & District village hall, where bag storage, toilet facilities and number collection are available on race day. On-the-day entries may be available if the race is not sold out; the number of on-the-day places is confirmed after online entries close three days before the race.

Key event details:

  • 5 mile Trail Race
  • 5 mile Canicross Race

Additional practical information includes a maximum field of 200 entrants, a minimum age of 12 years, and entry fees shown as £15.00 for each race category. Transfers are permitted until the evening before race day. Deferrals are allowed if organisers are notified at least 24 hours before race day or, in emergency situations, up to 1 hour before a race.

The course is described as undulating cross country. Prizes are listed for top finishers by gender and age categories, team mixed, and for breaking course records. A 10th anniversary commemorative wooden medal will be awarded to all finishers. Course records are recorded with times and years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
