Hoby Hop Trail Race

Hoby Hop Trail Race 10th anniversary special

The event takes place on Saturday, 3 October 2026 and marks the tenth edition of a five-mile chip timed cross country and Canicross race across the Upper Wreake valley. The route runs through countryside terrain with fields, stiles, brooks, traditional footpaths and some hills, offering views over Leicestershire.

Race headquarters are at Hoby & District village hall. Car parking will be provided on Church Field, Thrussington Road, Hoby, LE14 3EB. Entry is limited to a maximum of 200 entrants and the minimum age is 12 years. Online entries close on 30/09/2026; on-the-day entries may be available if places remain after online entries close.

Transfers of race entries remain open until the evening before race day. Deferrals are permitted if organisers are informed at least 24 hours before race day, or in the event of emergencies with shorter notice.

Prizes are awarded in multiple categories for both races, including first male, first female, first veteran male, first veteran female, first junior male, first junior female and first mixed team. There are additional prizes for breaking course records. All finishers receive a 10th anniversary commemorative wooden medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
