Hoby Hop Trail Race 10th Anniversary Special

The Hoby Hop Trail Race marks its tenth year with a special edition event in the Upper Wreake valley. This cross country race covers a distance of 5 miles through the Leicestershire countryside. The course follows a variety of terrain including traditional footpaths and open fields. Participants will encounter specific features such as stiles and brooks, along with undulating sections and hills that provide views over the surrounding landscape.

The event consists of two primary categories:

  • 5 Mile Trail Race
  • 5 Mile Canicross Race

Both races use chip timing to record participant results. The event is open to runners aged 12 and over, with a total entry limit of 200 participants across the categories. Race headquarters are situated at the Hoby and District village hall, which provides facilities including bag storage and toilets.

All finishers receive a commemorative wooden medal to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event. Prizes are awarded for various categories in both the trail and Canicross races, including the first male and female finishers, veteran categories, and junior categories. Rankings for mixed teams and awards for breaking established course records are also part of the competition. Parking is available nearby on the morning of the event.
