Seagrave Wolds Challenge 2026
The Seagrave Wolds Challenge returns for its twenty-second edition on Saturday, 7th November 2026. This multi-terrain event takes place in the Leicestershire Wolds, starting and finishing at the Seagrave War Memorial Hall on Green Lane. The course utilizes a combination of public footpaths and sections of private land, providing participants with access to areas not usually open to the public.
Participants can choose to complete the course as a run or a walk. The route changes annually to provide variety, though the distance is typically approximately 16 miles. The terrain consists of mixed surfaces and includes hilly sections throughout the countryside. This event is designed as a personal challenge against the distance and weather conditions rather than a traditional competitive race.
Support for participants includes several food and drink stops located along the route. Upon returning to the finish line, refreshments such as cobs, cakes, and apple crumble are served. The event is open to a maximum of 700 entrants, and well-behaved dogs are permitted to accompany their owners.
The event supports several local causes, with proceeds donated to the Seagrave Village Church, Memorial Hall, Seagrave School, and the Royal British Legion.
