Seagrave Wolds Challenge 2026

The twenty second edition takes place on Saturday, 7 November 2026 in Seagrave, Leicestershire. The event is a cross country run and walk over varied terrain through the Leicestershire Wolds, using footpaths and sections of private land. The route changes each year and is typically approximately 16 miles.

The event is presented as a personal challenge against the terrain, weather conditions and distance rather than a race. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Entrants under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult and the minimum age for entry is 10 years. Maximum entries are limited to 700 competitors.

There are food and drink stops on the route to sustain competitors. At the finish, cobs, cakes and Seagrave apple crumbles are served. Proceeds are donated to local charities, including Seagrave Village Church, Memorial Hall and School, and the Royal British Legion.

Tackle the Peak District on 21 May 2026 at the Parks Life fell race in Belper Parks Recreation Ground. Choose the main 7 km route with 210 m climb or shorter junior races for U12 and U10, with on the day entries available.

Running festival at Grimsthorpe Castle Estate on 23 and 24 May 2026 offering 10, 40, 70 and 100 mile solo races and a 100 mile team relay. The marked 10 mile loop passes woodland, limestone tracks and the estate lake and includes free weeke..

A new fell race from Sinfin Running Club around the Chevin covering 8.9 km with 315 m of climb. The marked course uses two short loops and a figure of eight and includes some short road sections.

An in-person 8 km trail loop around Calke Abbey nature park, meeting at Ticknall Village Hall Car Park. Organised by Run 4 U and Perform Running Club, with free parking and refunds available up to one day before the event.
