Course and event services

The course follows a flat multi-terrain route on a mixture of trail, tarmac and footpaths, passing through the castle’s Grade II listed grounds, past the hall and the Golden Gates. The event is Run Britain/UKA licensed and officially measured. The half marathon is run as four laps plus one short out-and-back with about 37 m elevation. The 10K is two laps with about 18 m elevation. The 5K is two laps with about 9 m elevation.

Entries include a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results and post-race goodies. Trail runs nearby

Run festive trails through Sherwood Pines on 14 December 2025 with a family mile plus 5 km and 10 km options open to dogs. Finishers get chip timing, medals and mince pies and there is a Merrell shoe demo.

The Gaddesby Gallop will take place in Gaddesby on Saturday 20 December 2025.

Tackle an undulating winter cross country on Sunday 28 December 2025 at Acresford Sand and Gravel in Huncote, featuring Croft Hill and a stream for a scenic but testing 10K. Junior one and two lap races share the same start and finish.

Start the year under the Wolf Moon with a scenic trail half through woods and along the Five Pits Trail, finishing by a campfire with cake and hot drinks. Finishers get a Wolf Moon medal for a cosy winter challenge.
