Trail Running calendar near Kildwick 2026-2027

Tackle the Viking Chase, a 12 km fell race across the North York Moors on 11 Oct 2026, featuring 572 m of climb and sweeping moorland views. Entry on the day, adults only, with proceeds to Cleveland Mountain Rescue.

Withins Skyline is a 6.2 mile fell race around Penistone Hill Country Park with about 820 ft of ascent. The senior race is part of the Woodentops Race Series with chip timing while junior races feature goody bags and fancy dress prizes.

A roughly 21.5 km fell race around the Goyt Valley near Buxton with about 760 m of climb, mostly off road and marked at junctions. Full fell kit is required and water plus hot food are provided at set points.

A canicross event at Pennington Flash Country Park on 11 October 2026 offering short and long route options for runners with dogs, marked trails, marshals, parking, a café and toilets.

A lapped run at Burrs Country Park on 11 October 2026 offering 3.28 mile laps within a seven hour time limit. The event supports The Sunnywood Project and the first 50 entries receive vegan biryani and a medal.

Junior races on short quarry and moorland circuits at Penistone Hill, with new 2026 age groups and distances from 600 m to 2,900 m. Minimum age 6, entry £2, goody bags and prizes for top three in each category.

A 7 hour timed trail event on the River Wear in Durham with fully signed laps and flexible distances from 3 km to 50 km. Finishers receive a themed medal, goody bag and distance pins, with aid stations and vegan options on course.

Trail half marathon and 10k around Carsington Water on 17 October 2026, with marked kilometres, marshals and GPX files. Entries include a themed medal, water and post race goodies.

Rip n Run XL in Wadsworth offers a 40 mile route with 5,800 ft elevation and an 80 mile double option with 28 hours to finish. Four checkpoints, indoor facilities at two stops, and hot food at HQ support runners.

Trail races at Loggerheads Copuntry Park with a 6km loop, a 12km two-lap option and a 6km Canicross. Courses are marked and marshalled and entry fees range from £19 to £22.

Part of the 2026 Yorkshire Weekend Saunter series in Brighouse, this event offers 5K, 10K and half marathon routes on scenic courses, with a jumble medal, hot food, drink options and flexible entry.

A 31 mile Amberaid trail with a 20 mile Northern Loop option called the Petit Raid through the Amber Valley. Routes are largely unmarked but GPX and route notes are provided; checkpoints offer water and some food and finishers receive medal..

The 2026 UKA British Fell and Hill Relays are the national fell and hill running relay championships held at Todmorden Cricket Club and hosted by Todmorden Harriers Running Club, using a four leg relay format.

Multi-distance running event in Knaresborough with 10k (ish), half, 20-mile, marathon and ultra options on a 6.5-mile loop through parkland and a converted rail track. Feed stations, finisher medal and post-race refreshments are provided.

Two trail races from Shotley Bridge, County Durham, with a **25 km** course and a **53 km** ultra that passes reservoirs, moorland and woods. The 53 km route has three feed stations, mandatory safety kit and live chip timing.

Join the Gormire Gamble on Sunday 18 October 2026 at Sutton Bank in the North York Moors. This 9.1 km fell race with 250 m of climbing offers sweeping views and a lively autumn challenge for seasoned runners.

An eight hour looped ultramarathon at Delamere Forest where runners complete as many 6.02 km loops as possible. Mixed gravel and trail terrain with a single aid station, chip timing and results showing laps, distance and time.
