Knaresborough Soft Shoe Shuffle

The Knaresborough Soft Shoe Shuffle is a multi-distance running event held in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. The event uses a roughly 6.5-mile loop through parkland and along a converted railway track between Knaresborough and Harrogate; runners complete a set number of laps according to their chosen distance. The official start location is the Start of the Beryl Burton Cycleway in the park; the event does not start, finish, or register at Mother Shipton's Cave. Participants receive detailed maps and parking/start/registration information in advance.

Distances offered:

  • 10k (ish)
  • Half Marathon
  • 20 Miler
  • Marathon
  • Ultra Marathon

On-course provisions include feed stations approximately every three miles offering water, snacks, and fuel. Public toilets are located in the nearby car park. The event operates a cup-less policy to reduce waste; participants are asked to bring their own reusable cup or bottle. Headphone use is restricted for safety: large over-ear headphones are not permitted, while bone-conduction or single-ear in-ear devices are allowed. Transfers and deferrals can be managed online. Road shoes are advised for the surfaces used on the route. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and post-race refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
