Withins Skyline

Withins Skyline is an annual senior fell race organised by Wharfedale Harriers on Sunday 11 October 2026, with separate junior races on the same day. The senior course is 6.2 mile with approximately 820 ft of ascent and is graded BM. The senior event is part of the Woodentops Race Series alongside The Stoop and Stanbury Splash and uses chip timing; online pre-entry options are listed for individual races and for the series, with entry on the day also available.

The route starts from the quarry bottom at Penistone Hill Country Park and follows a track to Drop Farm. The path narrows and descends toward the beck feeding Leeshaw Reservoir, then climbs across several boggy plateaus to the Stoop Standing Stone. The course continues along the watershed, climbs toward Dick Delf Hill, then joins the Pennine Way to the ruins of Top Withins. Runners return via the footpath to Bronte Bridge, cross the beck and follow the tourist path and track past Middle Intake farm to finish on the cricket pitch. There is a cut off of 45 minutes at The Stoop Stone.

Senior entries are for over 18s only. Entry arrangements note online prices for combined and single races, teams of three are free, and on-the-day entry is charged. Prizegiving takes place outside the cricket hut with an extensive prize list and conditions including one prize per person and prize collection in person.
