Withins Skyline

Withins Skyline is a fell race held on 11 October 2026 that starts from Penistone Hill Country Park and follows a circular route via The Stoop and Top Withins, returning by Bronte Bridge to finish on the cricket pitch.

The senior course is approximately 6.2 miles with about 820 ft of ascent and runs over tracks, narrow paths, boggy plateaus and paved sections of the Pennine Way. The route passes Drop Farm, the beck feeding Leeshaw Reservoir, the Stoop Standing Stone, the ruins of Top Withins and Middle Intake farm. There is a cut-off of 45 minutes at The Stoop Stone.

The senior race is part of the Woodentops Race Series together with The Stoop and Stanbury Splash and will use chip timing. Entry options include online pre-entry for individual races or all three races, with entry on the day available at a stated fee. Teams of three may enter for free. The event is for over 18s only.

Junior races take place separately and include a Curly Wurly goody bag for all juniors sponsored by Precision Pest Management and fancy dress prizes with a Halloween theme.

An extensive prize list is published for senior categories including places for first finishers, age-group veterans and teams; one prize per person and winners must be present at prizegiving.
