Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD)

The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD) is scheduled for 17 October 2026 and is based in Grassington. The event uses Grassington Devonshire Institute, 48 Main Street, Grassington, BD23 5AA as its location and finishes along the Dales Way back to Grassington.

The route covers 50k with a total ascent of 1260 m. It passes Malham Tarn, Buckden Pike, Quant Dales villages and sections of the Dales Way. Terrain includes runnable trails, boggy moorland and hill climbs between valleys, with some route choice available between checkpoints provided out of bound areas are respected.

The event is self navigated with no way markers and few marshals. Map reading, navigation skills and experience on the fells are required. Organisers provide GPX files for the 100k, 50k and 25k; the 25k is a fixed route and its GPX must be followed.

Services listed for participants include a route GPX, live tracking and timing, aid stations with hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and a UTYD gift. Lets Motor along the Towpath in Rodley is a canal-side trail event on a flat towpath with distances from 10k to ultramarathon. The course is signed and marshalled, has regular feed stations and a bespoke finisher medal.
