Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD)
The Ultra Tour Yorkshire Dales 50k (UTYD) is a self navigated 50 km event held on 17 October 2026 in Grassington, Yorkshire Dales. The course records a total ascent of 1260 m and is open to walkers and runners. The event base is Grassington Devonshire Institute, Main Street, Grassington.
The route passes features such as Malham Tarn and Buckden Pike and includes sections of the Dales Way. Terrain includes runnable trails, boggy moorland and sustained hill climbs between valleys. The finish returns along the Dales Way to Grassington. A GPX file is provided for the 100k, 50k and 25k routes; the 25k route is fixed and must be followed, while the 50k and 100k permit route choice between checkpoints within the event rules.
The event is self navigated with no way markers and few marshals, so map reading, navigation skills and fell experience are required. Participants must meet a minimum age of 20. Checkpoint management includes a requirement to vacate CP3 (mile 15.5) within six hours. Included for competitors are a route GPX, live tracking and timing, aid stations with hot and cold food and drinks, a finisher meal and an event gift.
