The Andrew Heywood Memorial - Windgather is scheduled for 12 October 2025 at Burbage Institute, Bishops Lane, Buxton, SK17 6UL. The course is an approximate half marathon of 21.5 km / 13.5 miles, almost entirely off road, with several hills and a total climb and descent of 760 m / 2500 ft. The route follows tracks and trails in the Goyt Valley and includes an ascent to Shining Tor. The course is marked at junctions, but navigation is the responsibility of each runner. Free maps are available online or at race headquarters. Water is provided at two points on the route and hot food and drinks are available at the finish. The course may be muddy in places; footwear with good grip is required.

Entries and race logistics

Entries open 6 July 2025 and close 10 October 2025. Minimum age is 18 or older. The entry fee is £12.00 and entries are limited; entry numbers are recorded in the organiser system and pre-entry is advised as entry on the day is not guaranteed. All race proceeds go to Buxton Rotary. Runners must carry Full Fell Runners Association kit: a waterproof whole body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat and gloves, a map, compass, whistle and emergency food.
