Both races use trail paths around Carsington Water. The route is described as undulating and passes views of the surrounding countryside. The half marathon is an out-and-back route plus one full loop of the reservoir. The 10k is described as almost one full loop of the reservoir. Take on the Dovedale Big Daddy on 1 February 2026, an AL fell race in the Peak District covering 20.4 km with 1370 m ascent and nine steep climbs through the Manifold and Dovedale valleys. Entries close 29 January and are limited to 250.

A fell race on 1 February 2026 covering about 14.5 miles across Bradgate, Broombriggs and Beacon Hill Country Parks with rough underfoot and over 1,200 feet of ascent. Entry is limited to 350 runners and pre entry is required.
