Gormire Gamble Fell Race
Gormire Gamble is an FRA Category BS fell race of 9 km with 250 m of climb, held as the second counter in the Dave Parry / Lets Run Winter Fell Race Series 2026/27. The event starts and finishes at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, North York Moors National Park, YO7 2EH.
The course classification is PM (partially marked), NS (navigational skills required) and LK (local knowledge an advantage). GPS navigation may not be used and all checkpoints must be visited. The route runs on road and trail and may include tree branches, roots and mud. A pre-race safety brief is provided.
This is a fell race held under Fell Runner Association rules; participants are responsible for being suitably prepared and knowledgeable. The FRA mandatory minimum kit is required: waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and an attached hood, hat, gloves, map of the route and compass, whistle and emergency food. The organiser will confirm which items must be carried for the duration of the race, and random kit checks are in operation.
Minimum age to enter is 18. Parking charges apply at Sutton Bank Visitor Centre; toilet facilities and a coffee shop are available. Prizes are awarded by sex and age categories based on age at the start of the Winter Series, with male and female open, senior including U23, veteran categories from V40 in five-year bands, and team prizes.
