Trail Running calendar near Gilesgate 2026-2027

A waterside trail event near Otley on 26 September 2026 with routes that pass seven reservoirs and offer distances from a half marathon up to a 32 mile ultramarathon, tracked entries, checkpoint support and mandatory kit requirements.

Trail ultramarathons of 50km, 100km and 100 mile follow St Oswalds Way from Holy Island through Northumberland scenery. All distances are fully tracked and include a finisher T shirt and medal.

Orton Fell Race in the Lake District on 26 September 2026 features a 10 km fell course with 258 m of ascent around Orton C of E Primary School. The FRA licensed event offers pre entry and on the day entries and includes junior races.

Take on the Eskdale Show fell race in the Lake District, a scenic 6.9 km course with 277 m of climb across classic fell terrain. Open to adults and juniors, with easy entry on the day for spontaneous race plans.

A classic Lakeland fell race from Tilberthwaite Farm, this 22 km course packs 1535 m of ascent across rugged, remote terrain and stunning views. Racing under FRA rules, navigation and mandatory mountain kit are required.

A flagged and marshaled AS fell race of about 4.3 miles with 400 m of ascent around Thieveley Pike, featuring moorland climbs, technical descents and a finish back in the start field. Registration is at St John’s Church Hall in Holme.

A short relay event in Malham on Sunday 27 September 2026 with laps of about 1.1 km and roughly 75 m of climb. Mixed teams are formed on the day, entry is on the day with a £3 fee, and all proceeds go to charity.

A category BM fell race of 11.3 km with 415 m climb around Waddington on 27 September 2026. Entry on the day is £5, teams of three are allowed, the route is marshalled and a 45 minute cut off applies on the upper track.

Run a scenic 10 km through Rising Sun Country Park across grassland, woodland and a nature reserve with muddy patches and climbs. Canicross friendly, timed and finishing with medals and event photos.

Run the Charm Bracelet Trail Events with an epic 104 miles or a bold 50 miles along the Pennine Way, finishing at Skinningrove on the coast. October weekend with GPS live tracking, checkpoints, hot food and relay teams for the 104 miles.

Join the East Coast Chuffer on 4 October 2026 in Scarborough for trail running along the historic Cinder Track with coastal views and woodland sections. Choose distances from 5K to marathon and earn a Grim Bling finisher medal.

A club organised 12 km fell race with about 490 m of ascent around Old Town, Hebden Bridge, including a flagged section through the private Castle Carr estate. Pre-entry is required and strict FRA kit rules apply.

A half marathon trail finishing at the Dales Bike Centre in Reeth on a fully marked route across moorland trods, tracks and grassy paths. Aid stations, GPX and an included post-race soup and roll are provided.

A trail event around Swaledale from The Dales Bike Centre, featuring moorland tracks, estates and historic waypoints. The route is slightly longer than a marathon, supplied with GPX and tracker, and includes a finishers hot meal.

A headtorch trail event on 6 October 2026 at Swinsty Moor Car Park offering Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km routes around Swinsty and Fewston Reservoirs with water stations and medals for finishers.

A BOFRA fell race at Wasdale Head in the Lake District covering 3.8 km with 700 m of ascent and steep climbs to the summit of Kirk Fell. Junior races are included and adult entry is available on the day.

A Lakeland fell race on 10 October 2026 over *21.1 km / 1450 m* of mostly rocky, pathless ground. Entries open 1 August via SI entries; FRA safety requirements and previous mountain experience are required.
