Roundhay 50

Roundhay 50 is a 50 mile figure of eight route around rural north Leeds. The route starts and finishes at St Andrews Roundhay United Reformed Church. Entrants may complete one loop or both loops. The event takes place in February 2027 and has a maximum of 220 entries and a minimum age of 18.

The first loop passes through Roundhay Park, follows the Wyke Beck to Temple Newsam, then joins the Leeds Country Way and continues through Garforth, Barwick-in-Elmet, Thorner and Bardsey before returning via Wike and Shadwell. The second loop goes through Gledhow Valley Woods onto the Meanwood Valley Trail with a checkpoint at Alwoodley, passes the end of Eccup Reservoir, enters the Harewood Estate for a checkpoint at the village hall and then returns to Roundhay by the same route.

The course is mostly off road and runs close to civilisation but may be affected by winter weather. Checkpoint opening and closing times are strictly enforced; arriving outside those times may require waiting or retirement from the event. A full route description and a GPX file will be available before the event.

Minimum kit that must be carried or worn at all times includes full waterproofs, hat, gloves, fleece top, long trousers, map with route, route description, compass, whistle, mug, emergency food and torch. Food and hot and cold drinks will be provided at checkpoints and vegetarian options are available. Entry fees differ for LDWA members and non members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
