SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge

SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held on 21 February 2027 with start and finish at Levisham Village Hall in the North York Moors National Park. The route is circa 13.1 miles with a 5 hour time limit and a maximum field of 50 runners.

The course follows forest tracks, ancient pathways, sheep trods, open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland. Runners pass through the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheatre around 400 ft deep and three quarters of a mile wide; local legend attributes its formation to a giant. The route will be marked with some flags and marshals, and each entrant will receive a GPX file and may view a master map at registration.

There are two checkpoints on course providing items such as flapjacks, crisps, sweets, water and soft drinks. At the finish there will be tea, coffee, soup and a roll. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. An optional technical event shirt is available from the organiser’s club shop for £18.

Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a spare long sleeved warm insulating top, a charged mobile phone ideally with OS maps, locate and what3words, at least 500 ml of fluid, at least 120 g of emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Organisers may carry out spot checks; anyone found without mandatory kit will be withdrawn and barred from future events.

Entries open 2 March 2026 and close 18 February 2027. Entry fee is £23, transfers are permitted up to one week before the event and there are no entries on the day. Parking will be within the village adjacent to the village hall and a £1 per car collection at registration will be divided between the village hall and the national park.
