SilverBackTrails Wade's Revenge

SilverBackTrails Wade's Revenge is a trail running event held in the North York Moors National Park. The course follows a circular route starting and finishing at Levisham Village Hall. Participants traverse approximately 13.1 miles (half marathon) through diverse terrain, including forest tracks on ancient pathways, open fields, wooded valleys, and expansive moorland.

The route includes a crossing of the Hole of Horcum, a natural amphitheatre approximately 400 feet deep and 3/4 of a mile wide. This specific edition of the race is run "widdershins," meaning it follows the course in the opposite direction of previous iterations. The event has a time limit of 5 hours and is limited to 50 participants.

Two checkpoints are positioned along the course, providing food items such as flapjacks, crisps, and sweets, alongside water and soft drinks. At the finish line, tea, coffee, soup, and rolls are provided for runners. All finishers receive a bespoke medal.

Running with dogs is permitted, provided they are kept on a lead; participants with dogs start after the main field. Mandatory equipment is required for all entrants, including a waterproof jacket with taped seams, an emergency bivvy bag, a compass, and a physical map (OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors).
