SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge

SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held from Levisham Village Hall within the North York Moors National Park. The route covers circa 13.1 miles across forest tracks, ancient pathways and sheep trods, open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland. The course passes through the Hole Of Horcum, a natural amphitheatre about 400 ft deep and three quarters of a mile wide, and runs near the hill known as Blakey Topping.

The event includes two checkpoint locations on course providing flapjacks, crisps, sweets, water and soft drinks. Hot drinks, soup and a roll are offered after the finish. The route is supported by marshals and flagged sections; entrants receive a route GPX and a master route map is available at registration.

A five hour time limit applies. Places are limited to 50 entrants and there are no entries on the day. No refunds are given, though transfers are permitted up to one week before the event. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Dogs may take part but must be kept on a lead and will start after other participants.

Mandatory kit is required and will be checked; it includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a spare long sleeved insulating top, a charged mobile phone with mapping apps where possible, at least 500 ml fluid and 120 g emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map.
