SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge

SilverBackTrails Wade’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held in the North York Moors National Park with start and finish at Levisham Village Hall, Pickering. The route covers circa 13.1 miles and passes through forest tracks, ancient pathways and sheep trods, open fields, wooded valleys and expansive moorland, including the Hole of Horcum which is around 400 ft deep and 3/4 of a mile wide.

The event is limited to 50 places. A 5 hour time limit applies. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. There are two checkpoints on course supplying snacks and drinks, and finishers are offered tea, coffee, soup and a roll.

Entries carry an entry fee of £23. The event is currently full and new entries are placed on a waiting list; payment is not required while on the waiting list. No entries are accepted on the day. Transfers between entrants are permitted up to one week before the event; no refunds are given.

Each entrant must carry mandatory kit including a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a spare long sleeved insulating top, a charged mobile phone with mapping apps, at least 500 ml of fluid and 120 g of emergency food, a working compass and OS Explorer 27 or Harvey’s North Yorkshire Moors map. Route GPX is provided to entrants and a master route map is available at registration. Marshals and flags will assist navigation. Tackle a challenging 10.4 km trail through the North York Moors, starting from St Helens Church in Carlin How with 350 m of climbing and great moorland views. Entry on the day for up to 120 runners makes it a lively local race.
