Skipton Sweetie Skedaddle

The Skipton Sweetie Skedaddle is a series of licensed road and trail races held along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Aireville Park, Skipton. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. The course is largely flat and follows a compact canal towpath with continuous waterside views.

Distances available:

  • 10 Mile
  • Half Marathon
  • 20 Mile (two 10 mile laps)
  • Marathon (two half marathon laps)
  • Ultra Marathon (two half marathon laps plus 10K)

Course details note an out-and-back or lapped format depending on distance, compact trail and towpath terrain, and feed stations approximately every 3 miles. Road shoes are suggested. The races are clearly signed and supported by marshals.

Included for finishers are a bespoke finisher’s medal and post-race treats such as sweets, chocolate and cake. The event operates a cup-less policy, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. A 6.5 hour cut off applies to all distances.

Travel information: the start area is a short walk from Skipton Train Station. Parking is available in local car parks and nearby streets; organisers ask attendees to avoid the Leisure Centre pay and display.
