The Hardmoors 26.2: Saltburn event takes place on Sunday 1 February 2026 at Saltburn Learning Campus, Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn, TS12 1HJ. The event offers the following distances:

  • Trail Marathon
  • Half Marathon
  • Trail 10k

Entries open 13 April 2025 and close 9 January 2026. Entry numbers shown are 378 participants. Age limits relative to the event date are: Trail Marathon 18 years or older, Half Marathon 16 years or older, Trail 10k 10 years or older. Sample entry fees listed include marathon from £49 attached, half marathon from £36 attached, and 10k from £28 attached. A T-shirt is available for an additional fee.

Course and rules

All courses are circular routes starting from Saltburn Learning Campus. The courses are not taped or signed, so competitors must use a downloadable route description and maps to navigate. Compulsory kit must be carried for the duration of the event; required items include a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, survival bag, foil blanket, spare long-sleeved base layer, headtorch or torch (mandatory for the trail marathon), 500 ml of water or sports drink for the marathon, route description or map, and safety pins or a race belt to attach the race bib. Failure to carry mandatory kit may result in disqualification.

Time limits are 9 hours for the marathon, 5 hours for the half marathon, and 3 hours for the 10k. There will be foot sweepers for the marathon and half marathon. Checkpoints do not provide plastic cups, and dogs are not allowed to run in the events. Competitors who retire should return to the last checkpoint or proceed to the next checkpoint to arrange transport back to the start.
