The Hardmoors Saltburn trail races take place on Sunday 1 February 2026 at Saltburn Learning Campus, Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn TS12 1HJ. The event offers circular trail courses for three distances and is part of the Hardmoors 26.2 series. The event is currently full and no new entries can be made.

Distances and limits

  • 28 miles - Marathon
  • 14.5 miles - Half marathon
  • 7.5 miles - 10k

Time limits are set for each distance: 9 hours for the marathon, 5 hours for the half marathon, and 3 hours for the 10k. Competitors who are not meeting time cutoffs may be retired at strategic checkpoints. Foot sweepers will operate on the marathon and half marathon routes.

Entry, fees and eligibility

Entry fees are listed as: Marathon £49 attached / £51 unattached; Half Marathon £36 attached / £38 unattached; 10k £28 attached / £30 unattached. An optional event t-shirt is available for £10. Age minimums are 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon, and 10 for the 10k.

Route, navigation and mandatory kit

Courses are not taped or signed; competitors receive downloadable route descriptions, maps and GPX files and must navigate themselves. Mandatory kit must be carried throughout each race and failure to do so will result in disqualification. Required items include a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, survival bag, foil blanket, spare long sleeved base layer, headtorch/torch (mandatory for the marathon), 500 ml fluid for the marathon, printed route description or map, and means to attach the race bib.
