Hardmoors 26.2 Saltburn Trail Marathon

Hardmoors 26.2 Saltburn Trail Races take place on Sunday 7th February 2027 at Huntcliff Secondary School, Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn-by-the-Sea TS12 1HJ. The event is held under an ARC permit and has a field limit of 330 entrants.

Three trail distances are offered:

  • 28 miles - ascent 4000 ft, time limit 9 hours
  • 14.5 miles - ascent 2200 ft, time limit 5 hours
  • 7.5 miles - ascent 1030 ft, time limit 3 hours

Entry fees vary by distance and UKA affiliation. The organiser provides downloadable route maps, route descriptions and GPX files; courses are not taped so competitors must navigate themselves and carry printed maps and route descriptions. The event is cupless so runners should bring their own cup at checkpoints and the finish.

There is a mandatory kit list for all distances that includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat, gloves, survival bag, foil blanket, spare long sleeved base layer, printed route map and description, and a race bib attachment. A headtorch and 500 ml of water or sports drink are specifically mandatory for the marathon. Failure to carry mandatory kit may result in disqualification.

Prize categories cover overall male and female positions and veteran age groups. Entries open and close on published dates and transfers are subject to the organiser s terms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
