Trail Running calendar near Chorley 2026-2027

A pre-Christmas trail on Moel Famau with a surprise route of about 6 to 12 kilometres, starting and finishing at Bwlch Penbarras. Canicross is available and finishers receive a mince pie and a festive medal.

A winter mountain ultramarathon on 19 December 2026 around Helvellyn, starting and finishing at Askham Community Centre. The unmarked route is about 38 miles with 2000 m of climb and requires navigation skills and self reliance.

A blindfolded navigation challenge in Skipton where participants are dropped at unknown locations and must find their own way back. Options include 6 mile for non locals and 10 mile and 15 mile challenges, with no maps or GPS allowed.

Bracing winter fell race around Bilberry Fields in Todmorden, offering scenic South West Pennine views and a testing 4.6 mile route with plenty of climb. Friendly club atmosphere with cheap pre entry and on the day entry available.

Celebrate New Year's Eve with the Wormstones fell race in the Peak District, an energetic 8 km with about 400 m of climb. Join at The Beehive in Glossop on 31 Dec 2026 for tough trails, great company and curry after the run.

Ring in the New Year with this scenic, hilly 10.8 km trail around Penistone Hill Country Park near Haworth on 31 December 2026. Entries are limited, chip timing is new for 2026, and every finisher receives a bottle of Daleside beer plus cof..

The Trails and Ales New Years Eve Fell Race will take place in Rivington on Thursday 31 December 2026. You can run 7 miles.

Trail running at Harewood House on 9 January 2027 with 5km, 10km and half marathon routes through the estate; Canicross friendly, live chip timing, medals and free on site parking.

A forest trail event at Sherwood Pines offering 10k, 5k and a junior run on undulating multi terrain, with route maps, bespoke medals, free photos and parking included in the ticket.

Weekend races on the traffic free Tissington Trail near Ashbourne offering a half marathon and a 10k with views across the Derbyshire Dales. Entrants receive a bespoke medal, free photos and organisers award prizes for leading runners.

Two races from Kirkstall Bridge Inn in Leeds: a roughly 16 km trail route along the canal and River Aire including the Calverley Cutting, and a fast flat 10 km out and back on the canal towpath with a turnaround water station.

A 10 km one-way race in Sowerby Bridge on 24 January 2027 that starts on rugged, muddy trails and finishes on tarmac, limited to 100 runners. No medal or T-shirt; official hoodie available to pre-order until 10 January.

A winter ultra trail in Barley, Lancashire offering approximately 45 mile and 30 mile routes on the Pendle Way, open to runners and walkers with maps, GPX files and waymarking provided.

Chester Ultra 50 Mile 2027 is a 50 mile ultramarathon scheduled for 27 and 28 February 2027. The event is organised by GB ULTRAS LTD and entries became available from 31 January 2026.
