Community Traverse - Lakes 100KM

The Lakes 100 km is a point to point mountain ultra scheduled for 20 March 2027. The route follows Wainwright’s Coast to Coast path between St Bees and Shap and crosses coastal paths, steep climbs, rocky descents and mountain terrain. Weather can change conditions significantly along the course. A GPX file and final route details will be provided in advance of the event.

Key checkpoint locations include Ennerdale, Borrowdale, Patterdale and Shap. Checkpoints will provide water and hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support. A bag drop service operates from the start at St Bees to the finish at Shap.

The overall event cut off is 30 hours. Participants who fall behind cut off pace may be withdrawn for safety reasons; individual checkpoint cut offs will be issued in the final race pack. A mandatory kit list applies and must be respected. Live tracking will be in place for all participants and trackers must be returned after the event. Participants who withdraw must inform race control and report to the nearest checkpoint.

Entries open 27 April 2026 and close 1 March 2027. The entry fee is £80 and the minimum age is 20. The event is registered with ITRA and finishers earn ITRA endurance points. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
