A trail event in Slaithwaite along the Huddersfield narrow gauge canal with options from 5k to marathon. Feed stations, marshals and a 6.5 hour cut off support participants across varied canal and tunnel terrain.

Relaxed, cash-only weekend runs beside the canal at the Fisherman Inn in Bingley, offering 5K, 10K and half marathon options with on-the-day registration and a jumble medal plus a beer or soft drink for finishers.

February 2027

A winter trail ultra on the Pendle Way with two route options of about 45 miles or 30 miles. The waymarked circular route starts in Barley and crosses moorland and villages with GPX files and written route instructions provided.

Test your endurance at the Wadsworth Trog fell race in the South and West Pennines. This 31 km event features over 1100 meters of climbing and requires navigation skills for participants traversing the Hebden Bridge landscape.

Flat, waterside races along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal offering distances from 10K to ultra marathon, Trail Running Association licensed and supported with feed stations and a sweet-filled finish.

Road races in and around Cockermouth offering a half marathon and a 10km through the Lorton Valley with chip-timing, medals and event merchandise. The event supports Blood Bikes Cumbria.

Trail races from Grizedale Visitor Centre in the Lake District offering a 13 mile half route and a 26 mile marathon. The course runs on forest tracks with varied terrain and views of Coniston, with feed stations and a compulsory kit list.

A marked, chip timed trail event at Whinlatter offering two route options: a 10K with 380 m ascent and a 5K with 200 m ascent. Dogs are allowed and runners may compete without them.

A chip-timed series of canal-side trail races near Bingley offering six distances from 5 km to marathon on a flat, towpath route with marshals, aid stations and TRA licensing.

A 50 miles trail ultramarathon near Chester on 27 February 2027, covering 849 m of ascent with seven checkpoints and live GPS tracking. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and has a 17 hour cut off.

Trail runs at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden on 28 February 2027 offer 5km, 10km and half marathon distances with live chip timing. Canicross is allowed and finishers receive a medal, merchandise, snack and drink.

March 2027

A fully tracked 30 mile trail event in Morland near Penrith on 6 March 2027, with mixed off road terrain, about 3000 ft of ascent and four checkpoints. Walkers are welcome and a 12 hour time limit is provided.

Experience a classic 15 km fell race through the South West Pennines. Starting from Barley Village Hall, this event features 545 meters of ascent and requires navigation skills for all participants.

A moorland trail event around Saddleworth offering 26 km, 43 km and 62 km routes that visit reservoirs and rough moorland. Entry fees include refreshments, tracking, medical cover and a post event meal.

Trail Outlaws stages night trail races at Kielder Waterside, a gold tier Dark Sky Park, with distances from 10K up to 26.6 miles and entry prices from £23 to £65.

A women-only 6 km trail event at Big G’s Gym in Edgworth on 6 March 2027 with official timing, marshals and a GPX route file. All profits support PSPA and Scallywags Pre-school.

Trail runs of 10 km and 20 km take place at Beacon Fell Country Park on 7 March 2027 with chip timing and medals for finishers. Pre registration is required and there is a three hour cut off time.

A new half marathon route through Grizedale Forest on wide trails and some single track, using both sides of the forest with views over Coniston Water. The chip timed, marked course permits runners to bring up to two dogs.

Trail running at Leighton Hall in the Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape with a 10k and two half marathon formats. Courses use mainly hard packed trails with water stations, marshals, on site parking and no dogs allowed.

A 31.7 mile off road fell race around Haworth, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge with about 1615 m of climb. It crosses remote moorland, requires FRA mandatory kit and navigation skills, and raises funds for local charities.
