Event Overview
The Haworth Hobble is a 31.7-mile (51 km) ultramarathon with 5,300 feet (1,615 m) of ascent and descent. The route traverses gritstone moors around Haworth, Todmorden, and Hebden Bridge.
Course Details
The event is held on the edge of winter. The route is mostly trails and moors, with some exposed and remote sections. It is expected to go ahead in almost all conditions. In exceptional circumstances, a 21-mile bad weather course may be used. Participants must be prepared for potentially very wintry conditions.
The race has a maximum time allowance of approximately 11 hours, with cut-off times at checkpoints. There is a mass start, with an option for an early start for slower participants.
Logistics
The event starts and finishes at Haworth Primary School on Rawdon Road. It typically sells out quickly when entries open on October 1st each year. The event is run by volunteers, and surplus funds are donated to local charities and good causes.
There are six well-stocked feed stations along the route, offering basics like water, squash, and snacks, with some providing hot food like soup and hot dogs. Post-race food includes hot pizza and cake.
Kit and Requirements
Full Fell Runners Association (FRA) mandatory kit is required. In addition, participants must carry a foil blanket or bivvy bag, a minimum of 0.5 liters of water capacity, and an additional long-sleeved thermal base layer. GPS devices are not allowed for navigation. The minimum age is 18.

The event is known for being female-friendly, actively supporting initiatives like SheRACES. Free guided recce runs are organized in the months before the race.
