Saddleworth Res's

Saddleworth Res's is a set of off‑road races held around the high moorlands and valleys of the Saddleworth area. The event venue is Saddleworth Cricket Club, Calf Ln, Friezland, Greenfield, Oldham OL3 7HY. Dates listed on the organiser pages include Saturday 7 March 2026 and Saturday 6 March 2027. Entry fees are stated as £35 for the 5 Res’s, £42 for the 10 Res’s and £52 for the 15 Res’s; the fee includes refreshments, Open Tracking timing, professional medical and rescue cover and a post‑event meal.

Routes visit local reservoirs and cross a mixture of paved paths, tracks, stream crossings, bogs and boulder fields. Route maps and GPX files are provided by the organiser. Weather and ground conditions can vary and affect visibility and underfoot conditions.

Distances and key details:

• 5 Res’s : 26 km, 692 m ascent; minimum age 17; two checkpoints, last checkpoint indoors.
• 10 Res’s : 43 km, 1379 m ascent; minimum age 18; multiple checkpoints with food and the CraggRunner tipple.
• 15 Res’s : 62 km, 1981 m ascent; minimum age 20; includes extended moorland sections and marked summits.
