Saddleworth Res's is a set of trail races run from Saddleworth Cricket Club in Friezland, Greenfield, Oldham. The routes cross high moorlands and valleys and visit local reservoirs. Terrain includes paved paths, tracks, boulder fields, stream crossings and areas of boggy ground.

The event date listed is Saturday 7 March 2026. Entry fees are shown as £35 for the 5 Res's, £42 for the 10 Res's and £52 for the 15 Res's. Fees include refreshments, Open Tracking timing, professional medical and rescue cover and a post event meal. There is a volunteer marshal option with race credit offered for future events.

Distances and minimum ages:

  • 26 km with 692 m ascent, minimum age 17.
  • 43 km with 1379 m ascent, minimum age 18.
  • 62 km with 1981 m ascent, minimum age 20.

Route notes: the 5 Res's route passes the Dovestones reservoirs and a notable boulder field before Rimmons Clough, with two checkpoints and the final checkpoint indoors. The 10 Res's route features bogs, stream crossings and multiple boulder fields with food at checkpoints. The 15 Res's route extends north past Castleshaw and Marsden, follows the 10 Res's line over Black Hill and Toolyshaw Moor, and includes a final climb to Laddow Rocks before returning to the venue. Stanhill Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle covers 4.5 mile from the Britannia Tap & Grill. It is Race 5 of the Accrington Fell & Trail Series and entry on the day costs £6.

A 3 km or 5 km run at Bowdon Rugby Club with drinking stations every kilometre and a mix of inflatable and non inflatable obstacles. Drinks are included and only participants aged 18 or over may take part.

Scenic 5K, 10K and half marathon options in Bingley organised by Its Grim Up North Running, with finishers receiving a jumble medal plus hot food and a drink. Online places have sold out but places on the day are available.

Three trail routes start at Bakewell Showground and explore varied Peak District terrain including moors, valleys and parts of the Pennine Way. The Half Marathon route includes outposts and does not allow dogs.
