The Saddleworth Res's is a trail race day organised by CraggRunner on Saturday 7 March 2026 at Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club, Greenfield, Oldham (OL3 7LD). Entry opens 1 April 2025 and closes 22 February 2026. Entry fees are: 5 Res's £35, 10 Res's £42, 15 Res's £52, with a £2 discount for FRA/LDWA/TRA members and an optional A3 map for £4. The event uses Open Tracking for live tracking and results. The venue provides post-event meal, refreshments, shower facilities, and medical and mountain rescue cover.

Courses and requirements

  • 5 Res's : 25 km, 710 m ascent
  • 10 Res's : 44 km, 1314 m ascent
  • 15 Res's : 60 km, 1876 m ascent

Each course visits local reservoirs and includes terrain such as paved paths, tracks, bogs, stream crossings and boulder fields. Checkpoints are provided on each route, with at least one indoor checkpoint on each course. Routes are not marked and participants must navigate themselves, visiting checkpoints in order. Minimum ages: 17 for 5 Res's, 18 for 10 Res's, 20 for 15 Res's. Required kit includes waterproof body cover, hat and gloves, spare long-sleeve top, paper map and compass, whistle, basic first aid, survival bag, headtorch with spare batteries (not required on 5 Res's), extra food and water, and plastic mug.
