Saddleworth Res's is a moorland trail event organised by CraggRunner on Saturday 7 March 2026. The venue is Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club, Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield, Oldham OL3 7LD. The routes visit local reservoirs and cross a mixture of paved paths, tracks, boulder fields, stream crossings and boggy ground. Routes are not marked and participants must navigate themselves, visiting checkpoints in the correct order. Entry fees include refreshments, Open Tracking timing and a post-event meal. Open Tracking devices will be used for live tracking and safety support. Professional medical and mountain rescue cover is listed among event provisions.

  • 5 Res's : 25 km, 710 m ascent
  • 10 Res's : 44 km, 1314 m ascent
  • 15 Res's : 60 km, 1876 m ascent

Minimum ages are 17 for the 5 Res's, 18 for the 10 Res's, and 20 for the 15 Res's. Entry fees are £35 (5 Res's), £42 (10 Res's) and £52 (15 Res's); a £2 discount applies for FRA/LDWA/TRA members and an optional A3 map is £4. The event lists multiple well-supplied checkpoints (including indoor venues), food at checkpoints, and a post-run pie and peas meal. Mandatory kit includes a whole waterproof body cover, hat and gloves, spare long sleeve top, paper map, compass and whistle, simple first aid, survival bag, headtorch with spare batteries (not required on the 5 Res's), extra food and water, and a plastic mug.
