Saddleworth Res's is a set of off‑road trail races held from Saddleworth Cricket Club, Calf Lane, Friezland, Greenfield OL3 7HY on 7 March 2026. Three unmarked moorland courses visit local reservoirs and require participants to navigate to checkpoints in the correct order.

Available courses:

  • 5 Res's : 26 km, 692 m ascent
  • 10 Res's : 43 km, 1379 m ascent
  • 15 Res's : 62 km, 1981 m ascent

Routes cross paved paths, tracks, boulder fields, stream crossings and extensive boggy terrain. Each course has designated checkpoints with food and drink; the 5 Res's has two checkpoints, the 10 Res's three, and the 15 Res's five, with at least one indoor venue on each course. GPS devices are permitted but participants must be able to navigate unmarked sections and follow the advertised route.

Entry fees listed for the event include refreshments, Open Tracking timing and a post‑event meal. The event provides shower and dining facilities, multiple support points, professional medical and mountain rescue cover, and live tracking for safety. Optional purchases include a map, a technical T‑shirt and a certificate. Minimum ages are 17 for the 5 Res's, 18 for the 10 Res's and 20 for the 15 Res's.

Required kit includes a whole waterproof body cover, hat and gloves, spare long sleeve top, paper map, compass and whistle, basic first aid, survival bag, headtorch with spare batteries (not required on 5 Res's), extra food and water, and a plastic mug if wanted. Take on the Mickleden Straddle on 1 Feb 2026, a rugged 14.3 mile fell race across high moorland with navigation required and winter conditions possible. Pre entry and FRA kit checks mean this is a demanding winter race for fell runners.

A winter waymarked trail challenge from Barley that follows the Pendle Way with a full ~45 mile course or a ~30 mile alternative, running over moorland and villages with multiple checkpoints and required winter kit.

A 23 mile single-lap trail from Guiseley across Rombalds Moor and Ilkley Moor via Ilkley and Otley Chevin. The hilly, moorland course has water stations, limited facilities and an entry limit of 550 which is currently reached.

Wadsworth Trog THE BEAST is a 31 km fell race around Hebden Bridge on Saturday 7 February 2026, featuring about 1,110 m of ascent and demanding navigational skill. Strict kit checks and no GPS navigation make this a true mountain test.
