Trail Running calendar near Park 2026-2027

A marked mountain race from Djouce Woods to the Ayling Abyss with a long 11.67 km course and a 4.9 km junior route; mandatory Level B safety kit and on the night registration and chip scanning are required.

A traditional up and down mountain race in County Wicklow covering 10.5 km with about 700 m ascent. The route is unmarked, GPS is not allowed and Level C mandatory kit is required.

A summer mountain running event in Trooperstown County Wicklow on 15 July 2026 with marked long and short courses, mandatory Level B kit and required carpooling due to very limited parking.

A 127 km ultra along the Wicklow Way from Marlay Park to Clonegal with 3,665 m of ascent and a 21 hour limit. Entry requires pre approval and a mandatory Level C kit; GPS is permitted and only major junctions are marked.

A fully marked point-to-point trail event at Glenbarrow, County Laois on 25 July 2026 with 7.7 km, 6.4 km (U18 trial) and 3.2 km routes. Mandatory showerproof jacket required and GPS devices are not permitted.

Trail races at Glen of the Downs in County Wicklow include an 8.15 km route and a 4.88 km junior route, both fully marked. Mandatory basic kit includes a showerproof windproof jacket and parking is at the Outdoor Living car park.

August 2026

A 10 km mountain run in County Wicklow with about 680 m ascent on an unmarked route visiting Art's Cross, Fair Mountain and White Hill. Part of the Leinster Championship, mandatory Level C kit is required and GPS is not allowed.

An uphill mountain race at Barravore, County Wicklow on 7 August 2026 with two route options and mandatory Level B kit. The event is part of the Irish Uphill League and capped at 50 entries.

A marked mountain half marathon in Tinahely, County Wicklow with about 21.7 km and 1,080 m of ascent. Part of the Leinster Half Marathon League, it awards 1 ITRA point and includes mandatory Level B kit requirements.

A new 10 km trail race in County Wicklow with 500 m of climb and a route still to be confirmed. The event is part of the Leinster Weekend, requires Level B kit, and does not allow GPS devices.

A hill run around Paddock Hill near Laragh County Wicklow organised by local mountain rescue teams with looped courses of about 8 km and a roughly 5 km junior course on fully marked trails.

A marked trail race at Ticknock on 15 August 2026 with a main 7.7 km loop (about 330 m climb) and a 4.0 km junior option; route features singletrack and a loop via Fairy Castle and requires basic mandatory kit.

A Southeast League mountain race in County Carlow on 16 August 2026, featuring a 9 km main course with about 500 m climb and a 5 km short course. Level B mandatory kit is required and registration is at the Deerpark carpark.

A fully marked mountain running event at Lough Tay offering an 8 km main course and a 5 km short course, with mandatory Level B kit and league based handicap starts. Entry fees are €7 and €5 for eligible age groups.

Mountain running at Belmont Demesne in County Wicklow with an approximately 8.5 km long course, a 5 km junior short course and a 1 km fun challenge. The fully marked route includes forest, narrow hill trails and a technical rocky summit.

September 2026

A map and compass navigational event in the Comeraghs, County Waterford on 13 September 2026, with long and short unmarked mountain courses. Mandatory Level C kit is required and GPS navigation is not allowed for competitive results.

A trail running festival in Fauna Forest, Donard, Co. Wicklow on 13 September 2026 offering 5 mile, 10 mile and half marathon routes with marked courses, checkpoints and on-site refreshments.

A 16.4 km mountain circuit in Wicklow with about 1000 m ascent, unmarked route and GPS allowed. Level C mandatory kit is required and the event forms part of the Leinster Championship.
