Bike Low Carbon Race Ticknock

The Bike & Bus Low Carbon Race Ticknock is scheduled in County Dublin on Saturday 15 August 2026. The event is listed as Difficulty 6 with moderate terrain, an ascent band of 200 m to 500 m and a typical course length in the 6 km to 10 km range. The route is fully marked and GPS is not allowed.

The main route starts behind the Blue Light Pub near a small quarry, proceeds past the quarry entrance onto singletrack toward the masts area, climbs to Fairy Castle via a tractor path, then leaves Fairy toward the WW, enters forest, returns to the tractor path to complete a loop, and comes back toward the masts area and down to the quarry. The junior course is approximately 4 km and turns at the masts area.

Mandatory kit is Level A basic: a showerproof, windproof jacket is required. Participants must be able to carry required kit; the exact items to carry may be finalised on race day and random kit checks may be carried out. There is no on-site car parking at the race itself; public transport, running or cycling is encouraged. Car parking is available at Fernhill and Ticknock public carparks with a walk or run to registration. Prizegiving details are to be confirmed and currently include a tray of shortbread. A fully marked 21.5 km mountain loop in County Wicklow with about 750 m of ascent. The course goes over Trooperstown Hill and through Clara Vale, includes a water station near 16 km, and requires Level B mandatory kit.

Tibradden in County Dublin on 29 April 2026 features fully marked mountain running routes of 9.90 km and 4.50 km with 365 m climb on the main course. Level B mandatory kit is required and GPS is not allowed.

An open mountain race in the upper Dargle Valley with free-route navigation over four peaks, covering 15 km and 800 m ascent. The route is unmarked, GPS is not allowed and Level C mandatory kit must be carried.
