Art's Loop
Art's Loop is a mountain running event in County Wicklow scheduled for Saturday 1st August 2026. The course covers 10 km with approximately 680 m of ascent. The event is part of the Leinster Championship and the finish line area is used for prizegiving.
The route starts close to Oakwood Hostel and requires visiting three checkpoints in order: Art's Cross, Fair Mountain and White Hill. The route will be unmarked and competitors have free route choice between checkpoints. GPS devices are not permitted.
The event carries a difficulty rating that indicates difficult terrain, more than 500 m ascent, and a 6 km to 10 km distance category. Organiser instructions note the run is over rough terrain and that the checkpoints must be visited in the correct order.
Entry fees are listed as €7 for seniors and €5 for those over 65 and under 18. Entries open on Monday 27th July 2026 at 21:00 and close on Friday 31st July 2026 at 18:00.
Mandatory Level C kit must be carried. Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with emergency number stored; foil blanket or bivvy bag; waterproof full leg cover; means to carry at least 500 mL water; emergency food; map of the route area; and a compass. The exact kit to carry may be finalised on the day. Failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
