Art's Loop
Art's Loop is a mountain running event in County Wicklow over an unmarked route that visits three checkpoints in order: Art's Cross, Fair Mountain and White Hill. The planned route covers 10 km and involves approximately 680 m of ascent. GPS devices are not allowed. The event is listed in the Leinster Championship.
The course is on rough terrain and checkpoints must be visited in the correct order. The route is not waymarked and runners have free route choice between the checkpoints. Prizegiving takes place at the finish line area.
Entry is limited to a maximum of 50 places. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for those over 65 and under 18. Entries open on Monday 27 July 2026 and close on Friday 31 July 2026.
Mandatory Level C kit is required. Required items include a waterproof jacket with integrated hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL of water, emergency food, map of the route/area and a compass. The exact kit to be carried may be finalised on the day. Failure to carry required items may result in denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
