Derrybawn Trail

Derrybawn Trail is a new trail race organised by the Irish Mountain Running Association in County Wicklow. The event distance is 10.00 km with 500 m of climb. The route is to be determined and route and logistics remain in development and subject to permissions and permits.

The event difficulty is rated 3. Race marking will show only major junctions. GPS devices are not allowed. The race is part of the Trail League Leinster and is included in the inaugural Leinster Weekend programme.

Entry fees are specified as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open on Monday 3rd August 2026 at 21:00 and close on Saturday 8th August 2026 at 18:00. Current places are listed as 0 / 250 entered.

Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard and must be carried as required. The listed items are a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. All runners must bring these items; the exact kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day depending on conditions and will be advised at registration. A summer mountain running event in Trooperstown County Wicklow on 15 July 2026 with marked long and short courses, mandatory Level B kit and required carpooling due to very limited parking.

A 127 km ultra along the Wicklow Way from Marlay Park to Clonegal with 3,665 m of ascent and a 21 hour limit. Entry requires pre approval and a mandatory Level C kit; GPS is permitted and only major junctions are marked.

Trail races at Glen of the Downs in County Wicklow include an 8.15 km route and a 4.88 km junior route, both fully marked. Mandatory basic kit includes a showerproof windproof jacket and parking is at the Outdoor Living car park.

A 10 km mountain run in County Wicklow with about 680 m ascent on an unmarked route visiting Art's Cross, Fair Mountain and White Hill. Part of the Leinster Championship, mandatory Level C kit is required and GPS is not allowed.
