Log na Coille (Via Ballineddan)

Log na Coille is a traditional up and down mountain race in County Wicklow, starting and finishing near Fenton's pub. It is scheduled for Saturday 11th July 2026 and is listed as Event Difficulty 8, indicating moderate terrain with more than 500 m ascent and a course longer than 10 km. The route is not marked and the use of GPS devices is not allowed. The main course records 700 m of climb.

The event is part of the Irish Championship and the Leinster Championship. Entry opens on 6th July 2026 and closes on 10th July 2026. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over-65s and under-18s. Entry is limited to 250 competitors.

Mandatory kit is Level C - Advanced and must be carried: a waterproof jacket with integrated hood and taped seams; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored; a foil blanket or bivvy bag; waterproof full leg cover; means to carry at least 500 mL of water; emergency food; a map of the route or area; and a compass. The final list of items to be carried during the race will be confirmed on the day and communicated at registration.
