Log na Coille (Via Ballineddan)

Log na Coille is a traditional up and down mountain race that starts and finishes near Fenton's pub in County Wicklow. The event takes place on Saturday 11 July 2026 and is included in the Irish Championship and Leinster Championship series.

Distances:

  • 10.50 km course with 700 m climb.
  • 4.00 km short course.

The route is not marked and the use of GPS devices is not allowed. The event difficulty is described as moderate terrain with more than 500 m ascent and a course length over 10 km. Mandatory kit is Level C and must be carried; required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, head cover, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone, foil blanket or bivvy bag, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL of water, emergency food, and a map and compass. The final kit requirements to be carried on the day will be confirmed at registration.

Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open Monday 6 July 2026 and close Friday 10 July 2026. The event has a capacity of 250 places. Brockagh is an IMRA mountain race in County Wicklow with a 9.90 km long route and a 4.80 km short junior route. The course is fully marked, GPS is allowed, and Level B mandatory kit is required.

A team relay along the Wicklow Way covering 104 km on 16 May 2026 with eight stages and teams of two to eight runners. The event follows strict kit and route rules and raises funds for IMRA junior international teams.
