Course and navigation

The route goes up Ballineddan and Slievemaan to Lugnaquilla, then returns the same way. Runners pass a small stone pile marking the top of Ballineddan and run past Slievemaan on the outward and return legs. Competitors should run around the cairn that marks the top of Lugnaquilla. Only major junctions will be marked.

Logistics and rules

GPS devices are not allowed. Digital maps or digital aids may not replace a paper map; the required paper map is EastWest Mapping Lugnaquilla Glendalough. All runners must carry mandatory Level C kit; the organiser will finalise and advise the exact kit required at registration. Parking is on a nearby forest fire-road close to the start.
