Wobbly Bridge Rathdrum

The Wobbly Bridge Rathdrum is a mountain and trail running event held in County Wicklow. The race takes place on the scenic trails of Ballygannon Woods and the Clara Vale nature reserve, located just north of Rathdrum. The courses consist of various ascents and descents on mostly forgiving terrain, featuring crossings of the Samuel Hayes bridge.

Participants can choose from several distance options:

  • 8 km long route with 180 meters of climb
  • 4.3 km short and junior route
  • 2 km blue route for beginners or those requiring a shorter distance
  • 200 m to 400 m inclusive run and roll wheelchair accessible challenge

The event follows Irish Mountain Running Association (IMRA) safety protocols. Mandatory kit for participants includes a level A requirement, specifically a showerproof and windproof jacket. Mandatory gear checks may be performed randomly. The long and short courses are marked only at major junctions, and the use of GPS devices for navigation is not permitted.

Registration is located at The Lakehouse, Splash Valley, which is approximately a ten-minute walk from the race start area. Parking is limited at the venue due to ongoing construction, so carpooling from nearby areas like Ashford or Rathdrum is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
