The event is a mountain out-and-back race on Sorrell Hill in County Wicklow. The main route is 9.45 km with a total climb of 392 m. The course starts on good forest trail, moves onto slippery trail, and finishes on open mountain. The IMRA difficulty rating is 6 (Moderate Terrain, 200 m - 500 m ascent, 6 km - 10 km). Only major junctions are marked on the route. GPS devices are allowed.

Entry, safety and logistics

Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard: a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent. Competitors must be able to carry the kit; random checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification. A waterproof jacket must be carried or worn for the entire event; not carrying a jacket will result in no result.

Online registration costs €7 and closes on Tuesday 21st June. Race registration on the night requires a race voucher or confirmation of online purchase and completion of sign-in and timing chip scan. Car parking and registration will be in a designated field; parking is charged at €3 per car. Prizegiving will be at Zellers, Lacken.
