Mountain Meitheal Fundraiser
Mountain Meitheal Fundraiser is a mountain running event in County Dublin on Wednesday 19th August 2026. The route is fully marked and GPS devices are allowed. The course covers difficult terrain with about 400 m of climb on the main route.
Distances:
- 8.00 km main course with approximately 400 m ascent
- 5.00 km short course / junior course
Entry fees are stated as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open Monday 17th August 2026 and close Wednesday 19th August 2026.
The race is primarily for runners who have completed the summer league. To be deemed a league finisher a competitor must have completed at least 7 of the 13 league races; summer trail races do not count. Handicap times will be published in the days before the event and start order is based solely on a runner's final position in LL. If a runner completes more than 7 races their position in LL will improve and this may affect their handicap. Non league finishers are welcome but will start behind handicapped runners and are not eligible for prizes.
Mandatory Level B kit is required. Required items include a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The kit to be carried on the day may be finalised depending on conditions; random checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification.
Location and parking are at Pier Gates, Lough Tay (Grid Ref 174905). Prizegiving will take place at Kavanaghs Roundwood. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
