August 2026

Iron Legs Mountain Races features multiple trail distances from 25 km to 100 km, plus a 50 mile relay and a Racing Dusk event. Registration is open and the organizer has held events since 2009.

Trail races in West Bragg Creek, Alberta offering 16KM to 50KM over forested single and double track with significant elevation and aid stations. Organized by Lewiston Ultra Events with specific entry and transfer rules.

A trail event at Nose Hill Park on August 30, 2026 offering 34 km, 17 km, 6.8 km and a non timed 2 km kids run with official timing, aid stations, photos and participant swag.

September 2026

Trail races at the Canmore Nordic Centre use singletrack and doubletrack around the main stadium with mountain views. Multiple distances are offered and Sport Enduro and Grit participants must carry bear spray; the event is cup free.

A cross-country relay at Confederation Park on September 20, 2026 with teams of three running a 3 km figure-eight on groomed grass. A 1 km kids race is also held and hot soup is served after the event.

Final race of the Central Alberta 5 Peaks Series held the last weekend of September at Weaselhead Flats in southwest Calgary. Multiple distances cross a 237 hectare park with singletrack, aid stations and a cup free policy.

October 2026

A trail event at the Canmore Nordic Centre on October 3, 2026 featuring 5K and 10K courses on double-track dirt trails, aid stations with Precision Fuel and finish line pie from JK Bakery.

Part of the 2026-2027 Calgary Roadrunners Grand Prix, the River Park Classic X/C offers 8 km and 4 km races plus a short kids run at Sandy Beach picnic area. Online pre-registration is preferred and entry fees apply.

Grizzly Ultra is set for Saturday, October 10, 2026, organized by Grizzly Events. Online registration via Zone4.ca closes October 5, 2026 and the form includes duplicate bib checks and payment options.

November 2026

Annual cross-country at South Edworthy Park, part of the Calgary Roadrunners Grand Prix Series. Expect late-season trail conditions and choose from 1 km, 4 km, or 8 km, with a post-race soup social at the seniors centre.

December 2026

A community cross country event through Bowmont Park with options for children and adults, timed races, and a post race meal at the Silver Springs Community Association. Festive outfits are common and winter footing is expected.

Racing Dusk is a 20 mile race at West Bragg Creek near the winter solstice. The course has three counter clockwise loops that can be run in any order and there is an eight hour time limit.

January 2027

Experience a classic winter cross country race on the scenic Panorama Hills trails in Calgary. Choose between 4 km and 8 km distances on a snowy and varied terrain with a community social to follow.

A cross country race through Twelve Mile Coulee in Calgary featuring roughly 4 km and 8 km courses plus a children's 0.5 km fun run. Snow and mud are common and spikes or cleats are recommended.

February 2027

A winter cross-country race at Nose Hill Park offering 4 km and 8 km courses plus a kids fun run, part of the 2025 to 2026 Grand Prix Series. The 2026 event is the 41st running.

Experience a traditional winter cross country race through the scenic Weaselhead Flats and Jackrabbit Trail. Tackle snowy forest paths in 4 km or 8 km distances followed by a warm community social.

March 2027

Final race of the 2025 to 2026 Grand Prix series in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Trail loops of about 4 km and 8 km include snow, ice, hills and water crossings; spikes or cleats are recommended.
