5 Peaks Weaselhead : Weaselhead Flats, Calgary

The event takes place in the Weaselhead Natural Area, a 237 hectare park in southwest Calgary. The course uses hard pack surfaces and singletrack trails and passes through areas with local plant and wildlife. This race is the fifth and final event in the Central Alberta 5 Peaks Trail Running Series and is held on the last weekend of September.

Course maps, elevation profiles and aid station locations are provided and may change based on trail conditions up to race day. The event is cup free so no cups will be provided at the start, finish or on course. Water and electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations; participants planning to be out longer than about an hour should carry a receptacle for fluids and nutrition.

Awards include medals for top finishers by gender and age in each distance and for overall top three male and female finishers. Medals and event swag are not included in the individual registration price and must be collected at the race. Restroom facilities are available at the start / finish area. Parking is available in the Weaselhead Flats lot and on street. Spectators are welcome. For safety, dogs, headphones, strollers or baby joggers and nordic walking poles are not allowed on the course. An in person obstacle event at North Glenmore Park where adults, children and dogs face a military style course across varied terrain. Obstacles are not revealed beforehand and no refunds are offered.

A 5 km inflatable obstacle course at North Glenmore Park on June 20, 2026, running in timed heats every 20 minutes. Participants receive a headband or buff and a finishers medal and minors must be accompanied.

A trail running event at Station Flats, Kananaskis with a 42.2 km marathon and a half marathon option, aid stations and mandatory safety gear, plus finisher medals and podium prizes.

Backyard Ultra in Okotoks on June 27, 2026 features a 6.71 km loop along the Sheep River with Last Person Standing plus timed 15 hour and 24 hour events. Timed slots are limited.
