Moose Mountain Trail Races : Overview

The Moose Mountain Trail Races, hosted by Lewiston Ultra Events, take place at the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area in Bragg Creek, Alberta, inside the Kananaskis Country park system. The event is a long-running, sanctioned trail race that began in 1992 and uses an established community-built trail network. Courses move from prairie into foothills and follow forested single and double-track trails around Moose Mountain.

Distances and event details

  • 16KM - 460 m gain/loss; 75% single track; aid at 8KM; finish cutoff enforced.
  • 29KM - 1220 m gain/loss; 50% single/double track; aid at 9KM and 20KM; cutoffs may remove runners.
  • 42KM - 1620 m gain/loss; 50% single/double track; aids at 9, 20, 27 and 33KM; missed cutoffs can redirect placement.
  • 50KM - 2351 m gain/loss; 50% single/double track; aids at 9, 22, 36 and 42KM; missed cutoffs can result in DNF.

All distances list estimated completion ranges and include specific aid station locations. Registration details: entry fee is $145 CDN (plus GST and UltraSignup fee); participants must be 18 years or older on race day. The event does not offer refunds and does not maintain a waitlist. Registrations are transferable for an administrative fee until the stated transfer deadline; transfers are not accepted after that date.
