Moose Mountain Trail Races

Moose Mountain Trail Races, hosted by Lewiston Ultra Events, takes place in the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area in Kananaskis Country near Bragg Creek, Alberta on August 22, 2026. The course moves from rolling prairie into foothills and uses one of the original trail systems within the Kananaskis Country park system.

The event has been part of the trail running community for over three decades. Runners follow over 150 km of community-built trails on forested single and double-track. The 8,000-foot Moose Mountain is a landmark along the route.

Distances and Registration

The event offers the following distances:

  • 16KM : elevation gain 460 m; 75% single track; aid at 8 km
  • 29KM : elevation gain 1220 m; 50% single/double track; aid at 9 km and 20 km
  • 42KM : elevation gain 1620 m; 50% single/double track; aid at 9, 20, 27, 33 km
  • 50KM : elevation gain 2351 m; 50% single/double track; aid at 9, 22, 36, 42 km

All distances have an entry fee of $145 CAD plus applicable taxes and platform fees. Participants must be 18 years or older on race day. American Express and Discovery cards are not accepted. There are no refunds and no waitlist. Registration is transferable for a $20 administration fee until August 10, 2026; no transfers are allowed after that date.
