Moose Mountain Trail Races, organized by Lewiston Ultra Events, take place at the West Bragg Creek day-use area within the Kananaskis Country park system near Bragg Creek, Alberta. The event offers solo mountain trail distances on community-built trails.

The course rises from prairie into the foothills and uses over 150 km of trails. Runners follow forested single and double track with Moose Mountain as a prominent backdrop.

Details by distance: the 16KM has about 460 m gain and loss, is mostly single track, and features an aid station near the midpoint. The 29KM has about 1220 m gain and loss, a roughly equal split of single and double track, and aid at approximately 9KM and 20KM. The 42KM has about 1620 m gain and loss and multiple aid stations. The 50KM has about 2351 m gain and loss with aid stations spaced along the route.

There are course cutoffs at certain aid stations. Runners who do not meet those cutoffs may be assisted off the mountain, redirected to a shorter placement, or recorded as DNF.

Registration and policies: the fee is 145 CAD plus GST and UltraSignup fees. Participants must be 18 years or older. Lewiston Ultra Events does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist. Bibs can be transferred to other distances except the 50KM. Transfers are allowed until August 10, 2026 for a 20 CAD administration fee; no transfers are permitted after that date. Trail races at Sikome Lake in Fish Creek Provincial Park on May 9 offer multiple distances from kids races to 10.7 km. The event is cup free and provides aid stations, washrooms, parking and in person packet pick up.

The Powderface Marathon is a 5 Peaks favourite and a classic event. It features a marathon and half marathon on scenic singletrack in the Canadian Rockies' foothills. Only 150 total spots are available.
