Moose Mountain Trail Races

The Moose Mountain Trail Races, hosted by Lewiston Ultra Events, take place at the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area in Bragg Creek, Alberta. The event is presented as Alberta's oldest sanctioned trail race and traces its tradition back to 1992.

The course climbs from rolling prairie into the foothills across more than 150 km of community-built trails. Runners follow forested single and double-track trails with Moose Mountain as a prominent backdrop.

Offered distances:

  • 16KM : 460 m elevation gain, 75% single track, aid at 8KM.
  • 29KM : 1220 m elevation gain, aid at 9KM and 20KM.
  • 42KM : 1620 m elevation gain, aid at 9KM, 20KM, 27KM and 33KM.
  • 50KM : 2351 m elevation gain, aid at 9KM, 22KM, 36KM and 42KM.

Registration details are specified: entry fee of 145 CAD plus applicable taxes and platform fees, participants must be at least 18 years old, and there is no refund policy or waitlist. Bib transfers are allowed with restrictions; a 50KM bib is required to compete in the 50KM distance. Some distances include course cutoffs at aid stations; runners who miss these checkpoints may be assisted off the mountain, redirected to a shorter finish, or recorded as DNF.
