Course and race details

The courses move from rolling prairie into foothills and use community-built forested single and double-track trails. Elevation gain and loss by distance are: 16 km - 460 m; 29 km - 1,220 m; 42 km - 1,620 m; 50 km - 2,351 m. Trail type varies by distance, with the 16 km course about 75% single track and the longer courses roughly half single track and half double track. Aid stations are placed on each course (for example, the 16 km course has an aid at 8 km; longer distances have multiple aid locations). The event includes course cutoffs; runners missing those cutoffs may be assisted off the mountain or redirected and may receive a different placement.
