The Moose Mountain Trail Races are organized by Lewiston Ultra Events and take place at the West Bragg Creek day use area. The event runs on one of the original trail systems within Kananaskis Country, offering access to over 150 km of community-built trails.
The course rises from rolling prairie into the foothills and follows forested single and double-track trails with Moose Mountain, an 8,000 foot peak, as a backdrop. Four solo mountain trail distances are offered and the event includes aid stations and course controls.
Distances offered
- 16KM 460 m gain and loss, 75% single track, aid at 8KM.
- 29KM 1,220 m gain and loss, 50% single track and 50% double track, aids at 9KM and 20KM.
- 42KM 1,620 m gain and loss, aids at 9KM, 20KM, 27KM and 33KM, course cutoffs may redirect runners.
- 50KM 2,351 m gain and loss, aids at 9KM, 22KM, 36KM and 42KM, course cutoffs may result in DNF.
Registration and rules Entry fee is 145 CAD plus GST and platform fees. Participants must be 18 years or older. Lewiston Ultra Events does not offer refunds and there is no waitlist. Bibs are transferable between distances except for the 50KM, and a 50KM bib is required to run the 50KM. Transfers are permitted until August 10, 2026 for an administration fee.
