5 Peaks Trail Run at Bowmont Park

This event takes place on the singletrack-focused trails of Bowmont Park in northwest Calgary. The route features punchy climbs, fast descents and many rolling hills, with views over the Bow River valley and the city skyline.

The start and finish are at Varsity Village Park next to Christine Meikle school. Runners begin on the Sideshow Bob trail, built into the side of a cliff and offering valley and river views. The course drops into Dale Hodges Park, loops west through the park, then follows trails parallel to the Bow River toward Silverthorn Park. Sport runners return from Silverthorn while Enduro runners complete an additional loop further east before joining the same final stretch.

The race is cup free. Water and electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish and at one or more aid stations. Participants planning to be on course for more than an hour should carry a receptacle. Dogs, headphones and strollers are not allowed on the course. Trail races at Sikome Lake in Fish Creek Provincial Park offer kids events plus 5.9 km and 10.7 km options. The event is cup-free with water at aid stations; medals and swag are sold separately and must be picked up on site.
