5 Peaks - Bowmont Park is a trail running event held in northwest Calgary. The race takes place on scenic trails overlooking the Bow River, featuring a route focused on singletrack paths. Participants encounter a mix of rolling hills, steep climbs, and fast descents while viewing the Bow River valley and the city skyline. The course begins at Varsity Village Park and traverses the local Sideshow Bob trail, which is built into the side of a cliff.
The route continues through Dale Hodges Park and Silverthorn Park, following trails that run parallel to the river. Available distances include: * **1 km** (Kid's Run) * **3 km** (Kid's Run) * **7.4 km** (Sport Run or Hike) * **11.7 km** (Enduro Run or Hike) This is a cup-free event, meaning runners must carry their own hydration receptacles to use at aid stations. Parking at the venue is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age and distance categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
