5 Peaks Trail Run at Bowmont Park

This event is part of the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series and takes place on the trails of Bowmont Park in northwest Calgary. The start and finish are located at Varsity Village Park next to Christine Meikle school. The route is singletrack focused and includes stretches that run parallel to the Bow River.

Runners begin with a westward traverse on the Sideshow Bob trail built into the side of a cliff, offering valley and river views. The course drops into Dale Hodges Park, follows singletrack east briefly, loops west through the park, then connects to trails along the river. Sport runners take the return route from Silverthorn Park while Enduro runners follow a longer loop further east before joining the same final stretch. Expect rolling hills, a few steep climbs, technical descents, and the possibility of hot conditions.
