The Bowmont Park race is the third event in the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series, scheduled for July 25 in northwest Calgary. The event starts and finishes at Varsity Village Park next to Christine Meikle School. Washroom facilities are available at the start/finish area. Parking is limited.

Course and logistics

The course is singletrack focused and follows trails overlooking the Bow River valley and the city skyline. Runners begin with a traverse west on the Sideshow Bob trail, then drop into Dale Hodges Park before looping west and connecting to trails that run parallel to the Bow River. Sport runners return from Silverthorn Park while Enduro runners follow a longer loop further east before joining the final stretch. The route includes rolling hills, several steep climbs and descents, and can be hot. The event is cup-free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start/finish and at one or more aid stations on course. Participants expected to be out longer than an hour should carry their own receptacle for fluids and nutrition. Spectators are welcome.
