CRR Nose Creek X/C

The CRR Nose Creek cross-country race is a long-standing event held near Nose Creek and Deerfoot Trail in Calgary. Established in 1986, this competition serves as a sanctioned event within the Calgary Roadrunners Grand Prix Series. The course is situated on the Panorama Hills trails overlooking the Hanson Ranch area.

The event offers several distance options to accommodate different participants:

  • 0.5 km (Kids Fun Run)
  • 4 km (Main race, one lap)
  • 8 km (Main race, two laps)

The terrain features approximately 100m of elevation gain per lap. Runners should prepare for variable winter conditions, as the course may include snow, ice, mud, or frozen ground. The use of treaded shoes, cleats, or spikes is suggested due to likely icy or snowy sections.

Registration involves an online pre-registration process, though all entry fees are collected on-site in cash. Pricing varies for general entry, club members, full-time students, and children. Parking is available at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church and along Hidden Creek Drive and Hidden Creek Boulevard, with a focus on maintaining access for local residents.

A post-race social gathering is held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, featuring soup, desserts, and beverages. To support waste reduction efforts, participants are asked to bring their own reusable bowl, mug, and spoon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
